lee bom contracts aids through blood transfusion after car accident. before the doctor (who is jang hyuk's girlfriend) died from pancreatic cancer, she attempts to apologize to lee bom & her mother who lives on an island, but dies. however, she does meet them on the ferry going to the island & gives lee bom a teddy bear. the teddy bear is the tie to jang hyuk, lee bom & her mother. the only other person who dies is lee bom's grandfather.
