Anyone know what is the yellow/orange thing he sprinkles on the salad at the end? It sounds like he's saying "sev", but I don't know what that is. Is it saffron?

its a savory snack made with gram flour i think (chickpea flour), its crunchy and salty...not saffron...

i guess you could find it in an indian store

Puffed rice is made from rice :) - and you get it in Indian stores but it can get soggy in the salad instead use toasted nuts.

Its not saffron. Its deep fried noodle kind of thing. Available at Indian grocery store.
