In most forms of fictions, clones gennerally start in a fetal stage and grow up and age like a normal human.

@BloodyMastersword At the start of the first movie, there was a ten minute bonus which was about mewtwo's origin, however it was taken away from the release of the movie and put into a bonus part on the DVD. This is true, they wiped his memory however after loosing that girl (the girl being the scientists daughter) they wiped his memory because he became too upset when she died. The girl had died previously, and the scientist was trying to re-create her...just watch the bonus, its worth it..

It's not a fake.  There was a ten minute bonus feature included in the DVD of this video that covered Mewtwo's younger days. Just search for Mewtwo's Origin, and you should find it in japanese and in english.
