What makes good music great? There is something about the simplicity of this music that makes it SO profound. the 'Ode to Joy' of Beethoven's 9th was based on just six notes. Carl Orff's Carmina Burana shuns any counterpoint - yet it is stunning music. And this piece uses its simplicity to wonderful effect - beautiful, moving and profound. May Jenkins long continue. He makes me proud to be Welsh.
the pow's are just skin and bone so glad i was at V J day in London all those years ago to honour those brave soldiers that made it back, they couldnt eat a thing because they couldn't keep it down , but they could drink beer ,the beer built them back up. British soldiers in asia didn't get their parade were forgotten after V E day and they earned their day ,i had a tear in my eye.
This was also a highlight of the 9/11 memorial concert that I and around 320 other Brits were privileged to sing at, on that poignant anniversary in New York recently. It is one of the most ethereal pieces ever to be written and was made all the more special as Karl again was conducting - one regret though was that this once off special emotional day was not recorded for posterity for all to expereince the power and majesty of this beautifully crafted and sung piece of music.
I associate this song with my grandmother who died last year, I woke up one night worrying that she'd gone, put the radio and this song came on and helped me to sleep, the next morning she died :(
This is jaw droppingly good and so emotional ,wich was probably the point of this passage, that it brings tears to the eyes....for a modern classical piece this stands up with the old masters !
Nice work. There seems to me to be a rather small amount of musical material here. It's very good, however, and the repetition of it and handing it back and forth among choir, soloists, and orchestra is effective. I particularly like the sustained aspect of the orchestra accompaniment for most of the piece. The percussion is effective when called on. The soloist is suitably understated and quite capable.
Maybe this is the sound angels sing to praise the highest God. This sound brings me such peaceful and moving feeling I can´t even explain. When I close my eyes I see a huge circle of angels through the clouds and they surround the white dove of Holy Spirit. This sound bathe any God´s creature to bend in front of His mercyfull love.
Wow what a performance...Rhydian your voice is SOOO beautiful...what a class instrument you have...its great to see you singing so well...i always thought u wer far too talented to go on x factor but understand sometimes its the only way to get noticed...quality performance by all obviously the cellist is exquisite also!
From Victoria Greyh- In reply to your reply- "Well I am glad to hear the public isn't supporting a single one of these people.. If they were, I'd expect them to stop! These people are amongst the worst people on the planet as far as I and a lot more are concerned.. I have plenty to say and am writing a book to say it.. thanks for the information
Very nice.... Rydian has most definitely improved a whole lot since X-Factor. He has wrestled with his beastly penchant for going over the top while performing. He's seems to have tamed (settled) and strengthened his spianato sul fiato.
So now there is no bleat or wobble from a forced/false vibrato. That vibrato problem is what had me thinking he'd never be successful, until he brought his vocal instrument under control. So that he's done! Bravo!!! :D
I was there, the whole concert was amazing, but after this piece there was a moment of complete silence, as if no one wanted to break the spell that had been woven. World class, thank you.
This is the best cello piece I have ever herd; played with such felling and passion; Rydian's singing puts him into a whole new musical sphere as a classical singer to match the very best..........so young he has a wonderful career ahead. This piece moved me to tears especially the video playing in the background of mans inhumanity to man.

Prachtig. Kan iemand de tekst vertalen van de solo. Koor was goed te verstaan hij wat minder maar dat kan aan mij liggen.

Fake and gay. I used to like classical music but then I took a cello to the head.
