I know you've already been asked this question, but one answer was only given, to my dismay, haha. Are there any other musicians that can be found that sound like this? I've been looking for the old school detective kind of music for a while, and this hit the spot.
@welosttheskyline Go for Miles Davis' "Generique", Illinois Jacquet's "Harlem Nocture", Karmen's "OST from Brazil". These are class-acts of the highest caliber. And maybe these would take you to bluer pastures yet.. :)
I was listening to this the other night driving down the freeway, which was fairly empty, windows were down, freeway lights were bright and it was a very breezy, cool night! It was a PERFECT night! Love this! It just put's me in a very good place!
@davidjclarke23, This is that real music i been lookin for, please get back to me if there is any other smooth jazz songs like this on youtube i cant find any, and also dont know what to search for thanks
@Arnevet Sorry in the delay in getting back to you. The one recording in addition to thins one that is specifically focused on film noir and jazz is Charlie Haden's group Quartet West, their first recording is all based around music and the L.A. of that time. The recording is titled 'Haunted Heart.'
Awesome music, I recently started listening to this kind of music. Could you recommend me some musicians within this "jazz noir" genre? Thanks in advance!
@Arnevet Try listening to some of Jared Emerson Johnson's music for Sam & Max and Peter McConnell's score for Grim Fandango. The very essense of film noir is captured beautifully by each of them.
LA noire made me love this stuff

I love Film Noir, one of my favorites is Kiss Me Deadly.

Sounds like Charlie Hayden's take on the theme to "Chinatown" by Jerry Goldsmith. Always loved that piece, and Quartet West is perfect for it.

Finally heard the work completely! Really a wonderful set piece for gathering the atmosphere around oneself.

I love this music. It's a little sad that L.A. Noire's music made me realize I love film noir and this style of jazz.

@Mattlarrivee It's not sad at all. I'd never heard of Noir before the game either. Besides it's a good game, Rockstar did great.
