  • Most astonishing is his car #'s were his age...he is 79 driving that Vette, and it was really HOT that day at Lime Rock, beyond belief

  • NOBODY'S FOOL

  • My idol

  • This is cool. I watched Paul Newman race, in person, about 3 years ago when I was at my karting event at Lime Rock. Great looking track!

  • Paul Newman defined A-List, a total gentleman with charisma to burn. Keep em revving up there old boy!

  • I've heard nothing but good things about PLN around the paddock. Paul had come up to a few guys I know in SCCA and congratulated them on good qualifying. I think what PLN found in racing was an escape from the false trappings of what can be Hollywood.

The appeal of motorsports for me is it's demand for excellence, consistency, discipline and determination. And making the most of what you have, both in your skills, or lack thereof in my case, and from your equipment.

  • @NewMexicoSunset

Paul Newman really liked racing. He always said that he never found grace in any other sport but this one.

  • Paul Newman = VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Haha I wanna go fast like him in this video! Someone find me a Supercharger...and a new exhaust...and a new transmission....and new tires...and a roll cage, then we can go faaaaast! RIP PLN

  • Imagine what Paul Newman's grandkids could say to bullying idiots when he was still alive. "Who's our GRAND Daddy, yeah?" (Points to the 79-year old man with the piercing blue eyes, roaring across the race track.)

  • What year was this and I'm assuming it's Trans Am?

  • The year must be 2004 since the number of the car corresponded to PN's age (it changed every year).

  • @wendy67mng thanks! I was just wondering that!

  • rest in peace paul newman, one of the greatest guys who have lived.

  • Rest in Peace sir. You've inspired me to change the world too.

  • I can only imagine being the guy behind Paul Newman. "Am I really supposed to pass him? Paul Newman? No way!" We all miss you Paul!

  • RIP Paul.....Newman's Own brands, made 250 million dollars, that went to charity.

If Jesus is real, he must be welcoming Paul at the Pearly Gates.

  • Just Heard! He Will Be Missed!

    A Great Actor & Race Enthusiest!GOD SPEED!

    GOD BLESS, Paul Newmans Soul!

    GOD BLESS, HIS Family!

  • Godspeed sir, you will be missed.

  • That man is true legend going to miss you R.I.P Paul Newman

  • R.I.P Paul Newman!

  • Paul Newman, Steve Mcqueen, James Dean. All actors, all racing drivers, and the three coolest men there ever were. What are we left with now?

  • Wow I left this comment just 2 days ago, and now he is dead. RIP Paul.

  • Patrick Dempsey

  • aint got shit on Paul Newman.

  • Paul Newman was a very good race driver, and has many documented successes at the highest level of sports car racing, more success than Steve McQueen ever DREAMT of. Had Newman started in his teens or twenties instead of in his late 40s, he would have been a very good full time professional driver at almost any level.

  • rich man's play

  • he's copying steve mcqueen

  • Bennet go play in a busy intersection. Paul Newman never had to copy Steve McQueen, he is his own man. In any case if he copied Steve McQueen, he would have been dead long ago

    Get a clue

  • wow you are one little pissant now aren't ya?

  • Paul Newman is unique , he is a one off special!

  • Cool! Paul Newman is a hero of mine, both as a driver and a decent person. I hope I'm still racing when I'm 80!

  • Thanks
