I totally agree with equsnarnd and other that find Anne Heller to be absurd..clueless!! and hovay I want to slap her too!!

Rand is turning over in her grave with this woman as a biographer. It's hard to listen to her talk about Rand and so misunderstand her. Greenspan was hardly devoted to Rand's ideas when he became the head of a Central Bank. something that is the antithesis of capitalism. Should you be known or characterized by the people who once admired you? This is one book I won't be buying.

I'm sorry, I should have said: A biographer without an understanding of his subject is *worse than worthless;* he spreads his misunderstanding of his subject, leading to a widespread misunderstanding of the individual in question.

Anne Heller does not understand Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism at all. For starters, she doesn't understand the objectivity of concepts, the *objective* meaning of altruism, or why laissez-faire capitalism WOULD work in practice. Without an understanding of her philosophy, one cannot understand Ayn Rand, because she lived by her philosophy. A biographer without an understanding of the subject is worthless.
