You are right. There isn't much difference between those cars. The differences between M6 and 650i are only mirror design, wheel design, mufflers, carbon roof, front and rear bumper, but power train is totally different, of course. Many people who see my car recognize it's a M6, because I changed full Hamann aeroparts, quad mufflers, brakes, wheels and tires everything.

Many people here said the above car is M6, but it's 650i.

I'm an owner of 6 series, which is fully tuned by Hamann parts, so I know the difference between Hamann 650i and M6. If you see the rear bumber of that car, you can recognize the rear diffuser is combined with the rear bumper. However, rear diffuser for M6 is separate from rear bumper, which means you have to add rear diffuser if you wish to make more down force or look better. You guys have to know even stock bumper design so different.

@hkim1123 i think there is also a noticeable difference in mirrors of an M6 compared to 6 series as well. It is a shame that M6 with so much power is hard to be differenciated with 6 series. Only professionals or ppl who own it can differenciate.
