@Liked, all I know is that I have a great appreciation for a large array of artists, Dylan, Hendrix, big bands like Pink Floyd et cetera but I can only compare them amongst themselfs, as Prince tbh makes them seem entirely one dimensional, Prince can only be compared with Prince. More difficult comparing him I guess to the masters of Jazz like Thelonius Monk, Ellington, and a once friend of Prince Miles Davis to name a few but what Miles even say about Prince, that no-one can touch him/

To anyone who doesn't get it, he changes the lyrics to give the song a deeper meaning.

"I wish you were special, cuz I think you're special" that line alone says it all.

It goes from being a simple love song that is self-deprecating into a complex song about building up someone else who insists on tearing themselves down.

I love this song and it brings me to tears - no i don't particularly like Radiohead...but the day my sister committed suicide, and I had to leave her apartment - with her behind in the morbid care of the Seattle Coroner's office - I got into my car, with my then 2 year old son - who had NO idea obviously of what was going on - and this song came on.

It is so hard for me to listen to it...but this makes it a little more bearable - my sister adored Prince. . .

We saw him on Valentine's Day - in the front row, he was singing - 'Baby I'm A Star' and uttered WHOO - looked straight at us and THREW HIS TAMBOURINE at my sister. She caught it. We buried her with it. I love him so much. . . he makes life bearable when it gets too close.

start was ok, but great ending. I like the fact that he changed things around, it made the performance more interesting. look at any good cover, and youll see that its different from the original (sometimes drastically). i still like the original more, but im glad i didnt hear a carbon copy of it just now.

I was actually there for this. I cant say I like it, it messes horribly with the original and seems a bit pretentious and disrespectful to Radiohead, especially changing the lyrics. On the plus side, his guitar is amazing. Its the only saving grace here.

@Helios601 You are correct about him being the all time greatest musical artist. People argue that Michael Jackson was far superior to Prince. MJ could sing and dance and was a stellar entertainer. However, Prince was also a great singer and dancer...but he also composed, arranged, produced AND performed all of his music. Talentwise, he is a genius...MJ cannot hold a candle to Prince.

Famous people, like Mr. Rogers Nelson, surround themselves with far too many "yes" men and aren't used to the words "no you can't" or "no you shouldn't".....I mean I LOVE Prince for the most part - a HUGE musical influence on me, but he can be a right tosspot megalomaniac sometimes and the " Creep" cover video controversy confirms this.
