  • One of my old favorites from early childhood!!! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • heh, loved the music.

  • Nope. Just a TV tuner card.

  • Are you using an emulator for this video?

  • The Jumping sound reminds me of Pick axe pete

  • What emulator (if any) are you using to play this?

  • vey good game for the limitations of the said computer.

  • Well, I love the graphics... but man, they should have let ME write the music... or even just re-compose it... Surely they can do better than one layer of tones!!! =) Where's Hank when we need him?!

  • The Atarisoft games for the TI were really polished. This is definitely one of my favorites. Dig Dug and Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man are also great.

  • This is pretty damn good. I think this is the only TI 99 4A game I've seen that has parallax scrolling.

  • as i said, the bitness is not what made SNES and genesis powerful, "16 bit" was used more for a marketing effect

  • The videochip is what really defines whata machine can do graphics wise the 99/4a used the TMS 9918A same video chip used in the first MSX machines and the coleco vision.

Also it should be noted most 99/4a games were written in GPL an interpreted language.

  • The jump physics need work, but overall looks good. I especially like the way it pulled off the multi-layer scrolling. Not bad.

  • I don't think this is a lousy conversion. The explosions are dumbed down, uses 1 color sprites, and the crater bombs don't work if there's too many sprites on the screen, but other than that it is pretty spot on, especially gameplay wise - and that's what matters!

  • I had this for the vic 20 almost identical graphics great game.

  • Never seen this port before and I had this TI99/4A.

  • Thanks for posting this, I hadn't seen the port on this platform before.

Love the way your buggy stays in the air during jumps!

Just played the original on a Williams Multi-Cade at a gaming expo several months ago :)
