This would make a really great Christian Universalist creed for any of the GENUINELY CHRISTIAN Universalist ministries out there. Just like the Apostle's Creed, where a modern reader would expect eternal duality, it's CONSPICUOUSLY MISSING AND EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL on the dispensation of the fullness of times!

@loopsearplugs The band Petra is basically defunct. Someone will have to carry on. As their songs are copyright material it would be difficult(legally) to play their songs without the members permission. I'd give it a good try with the right musicians and the legal powers ... and God's too!

@camlpg Petra is still together preforming as Classic Petra with the bands original members. I believe that except for John being absent and Greg as lead I think that the members they have now were the best they ever had at anytime. Although I also loved Ronnie Cates and Kevin Brando is by far the greatest new member to join them in later years and I loved Peter Fuller on drums but feel he stole it from Weaver though Schlitt was fully responsible for Weavers demise.

@farkas419: You're right! That's terrible. It is as if you're saying: "Father, please, bless me today" is wrong because those words are not together in the Bible. These ministers are sort of ridiculous because the sermons they preach is not also verbatim in the Bible.

Now, there is little wonder why the member of their congregations cannot give a concise and thorough answer to the question: What do you believe!

Many preachers condemn this kind of music in church. They don't even realize that for many young people and new Christians they were first exposed to the Apostle's Creed, our main Christian confession, for the first time with PETRA in this song! As a minister I owe a debt of gratitude for this group, that, with this song a few others, made my work so much easier among many who otherwise rejected any notion of Church.

My favorite Christian band of all time.....by a mile ! What a legacy of commitment to the cause which is only possible because God was central in all they did.

I have been a fan from the nineties from back in India. Thought it would be nice to see them perform live and finally did see and meet them in Texas when they were on their farewell tour.

Petra has proven to be one of the few bands that I'll listen to an album of theirs and think there's no way the next one I listen to can measure up to it. Then I pop in the next and think to myself, "Holy crap, this is as good as the last album I listened to!" Outside maybe their first album, which isn't like this song at all, they've made virtually no songs that I've gotten bored with quickly.

We typically use the Nicene Creed in the church I attend (Episcopal), which is the same creed as the Apostle's Creed (another creed we use occasionally) on Sundays. The Nicene Creed is a little longer than the Apostle's Creed in that it is a little more detailed, but it covers the belief in the Trinity.
