@LukaDawnhacker Probably because people are confused as to what the program is used for or compatible with, like me. The only languages I know of are objective-c, HTML 5, and css3. I'de rather just know what this program is used for so I don't waist my time learning it.
what happens if you create a class, then create an object of this class and finnaly add a new trait to the class? Will the already created object get the new added atribute?
Hey, just want to say that you have some real good tutorials, I like the way you teach. I can follow. Don't change the way you teach. Nemo is a Clown fish by the way.
@tmantonym Ruby sucks, and by itself no one uses it and its not worth learning at all. However, there is a web application framework for ruby called Ruby on Rails (RoR) which makes ruby extremely powerful and useful. On top of this, RoR programmers are EXTREMELY in demand and are pretty much the highest paid programmers ever.
@tmantonym Why the hell are questions like "What is ruby good for?" in the top comments of every of bucks ruby videos? This question is as unnecessary as "What is objective-c good for?" or "What is javascript good for?". You can do pretty much anything with ruby. A programming language is just a tool. How you use it and what you build with it is up to you.
@LukaDawnhacker You seem to be unaware, but there are pros and cons of every programming language. I program in java for making games quickly for web deployment and C++ to make little applications that I want to make a little more professional. I was simply asking for the pros and cons of ruby, nothing to get bent out of shape over. Though, I do forgive you for your lack of knowledge on the subject.
@tmantonym You forgive me for your lack of knowledge on the subject? Oh how nice of you. Thinking that java is only good for web development and games and c++ for "professional" applications shows that you are the one lacking the knowledge.
@tmantonym Ruby is a language that is commonly used with servers to process and return webpages with help of a framework called Ruby on Rails. I'm sure it has other great uses, but 99% of people will use it for just that purpose.
It's more or less the same as any other server-side language, like PHP or Python. I think this quote sums it up quite nicely:
"I’d say something Ruby currently has that PHP does not is hype, vibrancy and sex appeal." - Ryan Allen
@tmantonym mostly people use it for rpg maker xp, or rpg maker vx, there big jrpg making prgrams that can use ruby to make them be so much more customizable
@tmantonym Well as opposed to Java or C++ speed and dynamic typing. Not execution speed but the speed of the programmer(You) to get the job done quicker. As compared to Python well that's just personal choice they are effectively the same target audience written in different style.
@jock0man So? Programming is alot more than making a 3D game. Im sure you could write some useful tools using ruby that could assist in creating a 3D game.
Dude yo rock man thanks a lot for these awsome tutorials!
