Hewlett Packard 2000-320CA search it up, it actually has a 1.3ghz processor! in 2011, what the hell?!!!! even phones are getting better processors than this notebook
ok look the question is all the keys on that laptop actually working because i have sony vaio fe-550g that i trying to install it and is working but the f keys actually dosen't work
@sdaes You should try to install Windows 2000 on that PC, and check if you can install all the drivers for it. If so, you have a system that's running great.
@iinadir go to your windows start menu and search for services when in services look for superfetch, double click it and put star up type as disable and stop it, you can turn it back on if you want just put starup type back to automatic and start it.
Windows 7 ranges from 512mb minimal ram for 32-bit, to 128gb of ram with 64! Never had I owned a more flexible Operating system! So far all I can afford for ram is 6gb of DDR3 lol.
Nice I did W7 retail on my laptop with 2.4GHz and 512MB it ran just fine also the GPU was GeForce 420 Go I did compatibility mode to install the drivers now I can play old games :D

@TheNvdia Yes, you can even run Aero on it. However, with a video card that slow you'll be playing all your new games on ultra-low settings. You probably have an AGP card so there's not much you can do about that. Older games (Half Life 2, Doom 3) will run fine.
im running windows 7 on my 2005 laptop. wish I had Aero, but I have a custom theme now that looks awesome too. (AMD Turion 64 ML32 1.8Ghz, 1GB PC3200, 40GB Hdd)
u rock. i now how to install and everything and even did the advisor check on my XP to see if the drivers were compatible, wich they were, but i still wasn't sure. my processor is thesame as urs and urs seem to work fine, correct? so now im convinced. windows 7 will most likely run smoothly on my XP.
@EliteTutorialz Honestly, if you only have 3 gigs of RAM memory and do not intend to have trouble with your machine, then go for a 32-bit windows. All the hassle about the x64 architecture is useless unless you REALLY need it. This is what I think and what I would do if I were you.
@EliteTutorialz If you already gotten the 32 bit than its to late but otherwise if you didnt then you should get the 64 bit because if you want to upgrade your ram you wont have to buy a new os which is another 100.. just keep that in mind but if i were you i would get the 64 bit
@mrRapkis it should run decent. Upgrading to 1gb would go a long way. If its a desktop getting a dx10 card would help a ton cause wddm 1.1 saves memory and gives better scrolling performance in aero. I'd leave aero on.
This is a very good video. 5/5 stars! I had Windows 7 running on 512MB Ram and it was OK but I wanted more Ram so I could multi-task. Windows 7 is really fast in 1GB Ram
1 GB is ok - really I'm not frowning upon it. I would strongly suggest to use 2 GB because then you won't have to worry about anything. I say this because with my docs folder open, google chrome, and my email, my win 7 system is using 1280 MB of RAM. I do have Virtual memory disabled - gives about a 2x speed boost over here
@linuxrobotdude its not really using 1280, it superfetch caching programs that are ran often. WIndows 7 and vista try to make better use of unused ram. It scale up based on how much memory you have. I've ran it on 1gb on these old machines at my school and it runs fine.
i have lost 6:04 minutes of my entire life . always with the same shit. WINDOWS(whatever fcking edition) is a crap... is a fcking fresh install obviously will run smooth... wait 2 months or 1 year.. and you will remenber me :P
windows vista in my opinion was just horrible... windows 7 seems great tho. hell the beta ran loads better on an old computer i had where as windows vista was horrible on that computer

I'm running windows 7 on a pentium d 512mb ram and it runs fine I also have avira antivir installed and it runs just fine windows 7 is a major improvement over vista, shame on you apple for bashing windows 7 at wwdc. They are scared ;)
Ubuntu is pretty all right. I'm learning about it. But I don't like using Tar.Gz files.
Sometimes I don't know how to install the files. Like Gnome Do 0.8. But I think they messed up Ubuntu 9.04 with the improvements of the graphics. But it killed my desktop's graphics card(64 MB). The Wobbly windows would run perfectly on that (on 8.04) until I got 9.04. But it's free :) .
i have xp too, mi question is i already have all the drivers of mi laptop, is there any trouble is i just intall it from it or i have to download all again, greetings
you might take into consideration that given the low spec gpu windows 7 ultimate actually booted with the basic theme which does make a bit of difference as well on the performance; besides that, it is just a confirmation that windows 7 really does behave pretty good whether is 4 years old hardware or brand new hardware
Windows 7 Beta1 was freaking amazing, RC i don't know...not so much. I installed beta1 on a inspiron 6000 bought in mid 2005. I had those early ati mobile graphic. 1.6ghz pentium m and upgraded 1.5gb ram. I did that aero hack and jeeze. Everything was enabled! aero, the whole package! Now i upgrade it to RC1 and aero no more even with hacks! Beta +1 RC -1
Windows 7 is awesome. I got this Acer a few years ago, AMD sempron 2.0Ghz, 512MB Ram and some crappy via integrated graphics. hate it, gave it to my sister, but i does run 7 and any worse than XP, its bareable on either OS. Just wish the window color could be changed, pretty ugly.

Windows7 is very netbook friendly.
1.6Ghz Atom, 1GB, GMA950 - the typical bottom-end netbook.

I have a laptop witch sys spec: Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 2.0 Ghz 320 gb harddisk.. is that okay for windows 7?
ThePatrykfilm9000 2 years ago
yup...
its a dual core...
even with single core win7 already blast...
dual core shouldn't a proB...

agreed, any core 2 based processor will fly in windows 7. Even the netburst pentium 4's run it extremely fast.

so i guess windows 7 will work good on 1 gb of ram to right?

i have windows 7 on toshiba A50-109 1.60ghz 512m

how does it run compared to xp
dominater2156 2 years ago
windows 7 only looks good compared to vista, but yeah its goes pretty well i have it installed and am using it now....
if your laptop can open things quickly it still doesnt reflect performance really though

Why can't windows 7 DVD boot up,when you have dvd drive booting up first?
vstxp 2 years ago

Ubuntu is pretty all right. I'm learning about it. But I don't like using Tar.Gz files.
Sometimes I don't know how to install the files. Like Gnome Do 0.8. But I think they messed up Ubuntu 9.04 with the improvements of the graphics. But it killed my desktop's graphics card(64 MB). The Wobbly windows would run perfectly on that (on 8.04) until I got 9.04. But it's free :) .
Just messed up my computer....

yeah i know abit.
fedora is a linux distro spondered by red hat.
why?
FedoraFTW 2 years ago
oh okay. I don't know much of linux. But I have Ubuntu 8.04. I hate 9.04... When I run the Graphics on 9.04, it's so laggy!!!
But I uninstalled 9.04 and got my 8.10 back and now it's fast with the wobbly windows than the one on 9.04.
I think Linux messed up 9.04 cause it doesn't support the old graphics cards anymore... First problem they made...

very impressive, almost tempted to load the rc on my work machine.

Yeah, quite fast install rates with Windows 7, Quad Core is crazy fast my friend installed his Win7 in 10 minutes on his new rig.

you might take into consideration that given the low spec gpu windows 7 ultimate actually booted with the basic theme which does make a bit of difference as well on the performance; besides that, it is just a confirmation that windows 7 really does behave pretty good whether is 4 years old hardware or brand new hardware

Dude, assemble your brain! You make no sense.
Otherwise, ok.

It probably wasn't good idea to calculate boot time on 1st boot up (when system is still being configured).
As for everything else, good job.
