  • ok look the question is all the keys on that laptop actually working because i have sony vaio fe-550g that i trying to install it and is working but the f keys actually dosen't work

  • I have a pc with celeron 1.0ghz 512 ram geforce 128 mb fx5200, and xp is very slow, should I install windows 7 ???

  • @sdaes You should try to install Windows 2000 on that PC, and check if you can install all the drivers for it. If so, you have a system that's running great.

  • you can instal directly win 7 on win xp?? and your all archirves go to windows old??

  • @monabonita please i ned a answer soon

  • I have a desktop with a AMD Athlon XP Processor 1600+ 1.4 Ghz, 512 mb ram DDR and Nvidia FX5200 128mb. Can i install Windows 7 on it? PLZ Reply

  • @TheSinescu Yes, but don't expect it to be fast. You'd be better off using Windows XP with that PC.

  • turn off superfetch if you have 512mb of ram on windows 7 and it will be faster.

  • @BlueySkunky i have 1GB ram what is " superfetch " i just want my pc to be faster how to desable it ?

  • @iinadir go to your windows start menu and search for services when in services look for superfetch, double click it and put star up type as disable and stop it, you can turn it back on if you want just put starup type back to automatic and start it.

  • @BlueySkunky i have an auther question what is Superfetch and how can my PC go faster if i desable it ? what did i just done ?

  • @iinadir GOOGLE it. you have 1GB of ram so just leave it on.

  • @BlueySkunky ive sees that superfetch is very importante !! it makes ur pc faster and whit it u can a USB memorie like ram .

  • @iinadir yea i have a USB with readyboost, it helps a little bit.

  • What graphics card do you have?

  • i have a laptop so old they dint even make it any more and 7 works great on it, but i prefer to have Linux on it, i don't really know why :/

  • Windows 7 ranges from 512mb minimal ram for 32-bit, to 128gb of ram with 64! Never had I owned a more flexible Operating system! So far all I can afford for ram is 6gb of DDR3 lol.

  • @ajking2011 WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE X86 LITE EDITION ~{FTW!}~

  • I have a 1.73 GHZ

    80 Hard Drive

    Pentium R

can I play games like Halo CE on my pc if I install W seven?, and the W7 would run well also?

  • @TheNemesis50 No. Your hardware is too slow, its not the OS.

  • is it dual core,if so,nother thing to note is mobile cpu with 1.3ghz n dekstop cpu 1.3

is totally different,it's like 2.0ghz dekstop cpu.

    Bt nice presentation

  • Beautiful presentation ! If you are not a teacher, you should be.

    Eldridge Currie,

    Former School Principal

  • 128mb of ram with an ati radeon xpress 200 it works sikk

  • Nice I did W7 retail on my laptop with 2.4GHz and 512MB it ran just fine also the GPU was GeForce 420 Go I did compatibility mode to install the drivers now I can play old games :D

  • you scared!!!! XD

  • Im going to try it on p3 1ghz 512mb of ram and 32mb grafics :D

  • i have windows 7 x64 1.6ghz single core (AMD) and 3gb ram it runs fine people always over estimate processors

  • my mini netbook has 0.99 gig ram so does this mean i can install windows 7 on it?

  • @KRAZYkKID12345 yes it does and it should work just fine

  • when microsoft made windows seven that made it to run on a pc that was 3 times slower then the recamended settings so that it would be faster wnd would work on older pcs and stop the calls frome people noing nothing complanning it would not work on thare pc that thay did nor read the requarments on.

  • Well, I can got A LOT lower than that.

  • compaq/hp/ibm older mpc's have golden dust (knowledge) that makes it faster than most others equivalent in specs.

have you seen a ibm thinkpad T40 with its original xp? damn thing fly's!!

  • nice video

  • Andy Murray any one.

  • Hi guys ! thanks for the video !

    I got a Pentium 4 processor

    3ghz

    512 mo ram

128 mb radeon graphic card !

    75 giga --'

Is it possible to run WINDOWS 7 on it? It'd be great !

    thanks ;)

  • yes you can. maybe aero glass will be enabled but i'm not sure. it will definitely work tho.

  • @rooo1o

thanks man, really fast answer !

    i'll try ;) cya man !

  • gotta warn you though. don't use this for photoshop or anything. Windows 7 runs, and that's about it.

  • thought my laptop was crap!

  • @ViEtxHuE2 yeah me too :))

  • @TheNvdia Yes, you can even run Aero on it. However, with a video card that slow you'll be playing all your new games on ultra-low settings. You probably have an AGP card so there's not much you can do about that. Older games (Half Life 2, Doom 3) will run fine.

  • will it work smoothely on

    3.23ghz intel pentium 4

    512mb ram

    ati radeon 5300 graphics card

    250gb hdd

  • @classicrockhahaha Yes, but not for games. You could use it for e-mail, internet and watching movies. Maybe some really old games will work.

  • i managed to install Windows 7 on:

    AMD Duron 1.2Ghz

    512mb SD-RAM (133mhz)

    Sis 630/730 graphics (8mb not 3D)

    30GB + 20GB Harddrive

  • im running windows 7 on my 2005 laptop. wish I had Aero, but I have a custom theme now that looks awesome too. (AMD Turion 64 ML32 1.8Ghz, 1GB PC3200, 40GB Hdd)

  • u rock. i now how to install and everything and even did the advisor check on my XP to see if the drivers were compatible, wich they were, but i still wasn't sure. my processor is thesame as urs and urs seem to work fine, correct? so now im convinced. windows 7 will most likely run smoothly on my XP.

  • hey guys, will windows 7 32-bit work on my asus a8f laptop with these specs:

    1.66Ghz Intel Centrino Duo

    512mb RAM

    128mb Intel 945GM graphics

    80gb HardDrive

need your coments guys!!!will it run smoothly!!!!rep plssss..

  • @macmac2171 yep it will run and work like a charm.

  • If i have 3 GB of ram should i get 64 bit?

  • @EliteTutorialz 32, not 64. you need 64 if your ram goes over 3.25

  • @RIPPCalarius Ok thanks.

  • @EliteTutorialz anytime :)

  • @RIPPCalarius But should I or will it be a waste of time?

  • @EliteTutorialz Honestly, if you only have 3 gigs of RAM memory and do not intend to have trouble with your machine, then go for a 32-bit windows. All the hassle about the x64 architecture is useless unless you REALLY need it. This is what I think and what I would do if I were you.

  • @RIPPCalarius Ok thanks man.

  • @EliteTutorialz Np, anytime.

  • @EliteTutorialz If you already gotten the 32 bit than its to late but otherwise if you didnt then you should get the 64 bit because if you want to upgrade your ram you wont have to buy a new os which is another 100.. just keep that in mind but if i were you i would get the 64 bit

  • hey , how will win 7 64 bit, wotk on a 2 gb ram?

  • can i do this system: windows xp home ed, vesion 2002, sp3

    computer: Pentiun(R) 4 CPU 2.60 GHz

2.59 GHz, 1.25 GB of RAM?

and will i lose all my files?

  • @SNOWBOARDER1SAM duhhh

  • @SNOWBOARDER1SAM yeah ive got

Intel pentium 4 3.08GHZ (ht enable)

    2GB RAM DDR2 667MHz

    ATI HD 4650 1GB DDR2 (max overclock)

    gigabyte-GAVM900M

and changed from XP SP3 to SE7EN ULTIMATE 32BITS and it works GREAT

  • congrats dude..!!im downloading windows 7 today.....i have

    512mb ram

    pentium4

    2.40ghz.

  • @SkullRampage24 and how?

  • did that say 17.? gig hd?

  • try enabling the aero theme.....

  • I read somewhere online, that it can run as low as 96MB, with Pentium II 266Mhz.

  • @rimwydas1 you can get the one from vista. Look it up on google.

  • lol sounds like my pc :)

  • @alisson3000br how much of GHZ?

  • How well would it run on 512mb RAM if I disabled some stuff, like Aero, shadows under icons, and UAC?

  • Is it worth switching to windows 7 when my PC is: 1.53GHz, 512MB Ram, XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3?

Please tell me Yes or No and explain why :)

    thank you

  • @mrRapkis no really not worth. at least get a core 2 duo PC

  • @mrRapkis it should run decent. Upgrading to 1gb would go a long way. If its a desktop getting a dx10 card would help a ton cause wddm 1.1 saves memory and gives better scrolling performance in aero. I'd leave aero on.

  • I have installed Windows 7 with 512ram, I tried to install it one more time... It fails...

  • I have 748 mb RAM.Will Windows 7 works on my PC?I thing it would :D

  • As long as you aren't doing a lot of multitasking.

  • @valsimot95 yes it will run great.

  • This is a very good video. 5/5 stars! I had Windows 7 running on 512MB Ram and it was OK but I wanted more Ram so I could multi-task. Windows 7 is really fast in 1GB Ram

  • 1 GB is ok - really I'm not frowning upon it. I would strongly suggest to use 2 GB because then you won't have to worry about anything. I say this because with my docs folder open, google chrome, and my email, my win 7 system is using 1280 MB of RAM. I do have Virtual memory disabled - gives about a 2x speed boost over here

  • @linuxrobotdude its not really using 1280, it superfetch caching programs that are ran often. WIndows 7 and vista try to make better use of unused ram. It scale up based on how much memory you have. I've ran it on 1gb on these old machines at my school and it runs fine.

  • i have almost same laptop specks and windows 7 home premium retail 32 bit

its running so slow. internet explorer opens 2 min

if u want to do many things at 1nce u really need a better pc

  • @kinggomezs

in about 15 a 20 years this is standard !!

    trust me

  • @kinggomezs

    Wow! who da fcuk cares?!

  • i have lost 6:04 minutes of my entire life . always with the same shit. WINDOWS(whatever fcking edition) is a crap... is a fcking fresh install obviously will run smooth... wait 2 months or 1 year.. and you will remenber me :P

  • Ah screw W7, a bunch o 'shit. XP Pro for life, and when the last copy on the entire world is gone, I'll find a way.

    XP Pro SP3

    3.0ghz dual core e8400

    4gb ram

    Nvidia 9800gtx

    370gb of space.

    Aha fuck 7.

  • @Sffker XP !!!!

  • im wit u th emost stable and best windows ever is xp!

  • windows vista in my opinion was just horrible... windows 7 seems great tho. hell the beta ran loads better on an old computer i had where as windows vista was horrible on that computer

  • well i'm used to windows xp, but my friends all have vista so i thought vista was really amazing, because it looked lovely, etc. :} yet now windows 7 looks amazing and tomorrow i'm getting a windows 7 laptop ;D

  • Can The Win 7 Build 7600 Install On The Compaq Presario Computer?

    Spec:

    Proccessor Intel P4 516 2.93 GHz?

    Ram:512 MB RAM

Chipset: Intel® 82915G/82910GL Express Chipset Family

    Graphics: Intel GMA 900 128MB

    Plz Give Me Some Info!

  • @tayrenpeng Yup it can and im pretty sure it would run fine and the integrated graphics should be fine running aero.

  • Yeah, that should run pretty well, too.

  • lol ryan is half cute

  • I've actually run Win7 on a Acer One netbook with 512MB, while it worked, I did find it rather unstable and would BSOD on occasions. The same netbook would run XP SP3 and Ubuntu Linux totally reliably. MS do specify a minimum of 1GB to run 7, so one should take heed of that.

Running 7 on a Sony Vaio P UMPC with Atom CPU and 2GB it flies, and is totally reliable.

  • why you didn't format your HDD?

  • Would windows 7 run with these requirements? :

    AMD Athlon™XP 2200+

    1.67 GHz,512mb of Ram

MOTHERBOARD AQ JENIS MSI AGP 8X,

    NVDIA GEFORCE FX 5200

    please help

  • Upgrade the RAM. I've found that 7 does really need 1GB of RAM to work properly. Any less and it can get unstable, that's what I've found. Your Athlon XP CPU is plenty powerful enough, However I'm sure your Nvidia FX5200 wont support Aero. It will work in basic mode just fine.

  • Uh install time depends more so on optical drive speed and hdd write speed, mentioning the cpu and memory capacity when saying the time was pretty useless.

  • Hi Ryan - after the first time you boot the computer did it still take 1:14 minuts until 7 came up ?

  • UK012, with this computer (I think), you don't go have problems. P.S.: I'm sorry for the bad english, I am brazillian (unfortunatly)

  • Well then at least you're amazing at soccer

  • Yeah, but remember, you are generalizing. For exemple, I'm terrible in soccer, but I'm very intelligent. I hate this image that you have of Brazil. Brazil is not just soccer, samba and nude woman (sometimes).

  • Nice!

  • Would windows 7 run with these requirements? : Intel pentium 4 3ghz, 80gb hard disk 512 ram ATI radeon HD4350

if so then i might think of buying it :)

  • If it works on that laptop (The one in the Video) Then yest it will work but i would upgrade the RAM To 1GB (Thats what i recomend)

  • It will work, yes. :)

  • u should upgrade your ram first ;)

  • Windows7 is very netbook friendly.

    1.6Ghz Atom, 1GB, GMA950 - the typical bottom-end netbook.

    Runs butter-smooth.

    Vista however... fail.

The only requirement for Win7 is to have a DirectX 9 GPU, otherwise you can't run Aero, which is lame.

  • how well will this work on a dell xps m140 with 2 gigs ram?

  • awesomely

  • After seeing W7 running on netbooks with atom 270, I believe anything goes...

    Faster than vista, no doubt!

  • I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my Compaq Presario CQ60-420US laptop (2Ghz Intel Core Duo with 4GB RAM) and it runs flawlessly and FAST. All hardware was detected, and all drivers installed perfectly. I even tried running Win7 with 1GB RAM and it still was very fast. Much faster and more responsive than Vista was with 3GB.

  • How'd it go?

  • Really? I have about the same specs, how fast are we talkin'?

  • Oh sorry again. I have a hp microtower dx2200 computer. It has 2 processors that have pentium 4 3.00Ghz

    512 MB

    112Gb Hard Drive

Is that good enough yall? reply

  • The hard drive space is plenty, however you really won't get the best performance with just 512 mb; sorry but you'd have to upgrade your RAM.

  • I'm kinda scared to fresh install on my cracked screen laptop. I'm using a external monitor to see it, in plus i'm waiting for the official release to see how it win 7 is really gonna be. Vista didn't come out as it was expected always freezing and crashing so just for the safety i'm installing it on a virtual pc

  • i'm impressed, i'm still with XP and i thought i'd wait til an after Vista. I'm glad Windows 7 is as good as people say it is, giives confidence to upgrade, but probably will wait until i build a new machine.

  • does it is good for gaming performance as compare to XP

  • mmmm en caso mio mi prcesador va 1.8GHz nadamas es 1 nucleo jeje y 2.5GB de ramm

  • i have it on a 433 celeron, with 512 mbs of ram and a 16 color screen that dosnt show warm colors... any whos it dosn't show the top bar(with the _ 0 X buttons) and it dosn't read my ethernet card (nor dose vista) but XP does.

  • 4 GB ram

  • I have a laptop witch sys spec: Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 2.0 Ghz 320 gb harddisk.. is that okay for windows 7?

  • yup...

    its a dual core...

even with single core win7 already blast...

    dual core shouldn't a proB...

  • agreed, any core 2 based processor will fly in windows 7. Even the netburst pentium 4's run it extremely fast.

  • so i guess windows 7 will work good on 1 gb of ram to right?

  • i have windows 7 on toshiba A50-109 1.60ghz 512m

  • how does it run compared to xp

  • windows 7 only looks good compared to vista, but yeah its goes pretty well i have it installed and am using it now....

if your laptop can open things quickly it still doesnt reflect performance really though

  • Why can't windows 7 DVD boot up,when you have dvd drive booting up first?

  • random glitch, i had it 2.

use vista or xp to explore the disk and run the setup, its how i did mine and its runing perfect on a P4 2.4 and 512mb ram with a radeon x1300.

    ON AERO!!!!

  • I'm running windows 7 on a pentium d 512mb ram and it runs fine I also have avira antivir installed and it runs just fine windows 7 is a major improvement over vista, shame on you apple for bashing windows 7 at wwdc. They are scared ;)

  • this is shit, slow. try ubuntu on it

  • Ubuntu is pretty all right. I'm learning about it. But I don't like using Tar.Gz files.

Sometimes I don't know how to install the files. Like Gnome Do 0.8. But I think they messed up Ubuntu 9.04 with the improvements of the graphics. But it killed my desktop's graphics card(64 MB). The Wobbly windows would run perfectly on that (on 8.04) until I got 9.04. But it's free :) .

    Just messed up my computer....

  • i have windows vista running on my laptop, it has a 1.6Ghz celeron-m and 512mb and runs fine.

  • Maybe you got the fix version. That's why.

  • Of Vista.

  • idk, i have had it for 2 years.

  • lol... Do you know much of Computers? I know your name stands for Linux.

  • yeah i know abit.

fedora is a linux distro spondered by red hat.

    why?

  • oh okay. I don't know much of linux. But I have Ubuntu 8.04. I hate 9.04... When I run the Graphics on 9.04, it's so laggy!!!

But I uninstalled 9.04 and got my 8.10 back and now it's fast with the wobbly windows than the one on 9.04.

I think Linux messed up 9.04 cause it doesn't support the old graphics cards anymore... First problem they made...

  • very impressive, almost tempted to load the rc on my work machine.

athlon x2 64 dual core +1gb but then xp aint all that fast as it is (probably slow ram/hdds fault)

  • i have xp too, mi question is i already have all the drivers of mi laptop, is there any trouble is i just intall it from it or i have to download all again, greetings

    great video, and great windows

  • Yeah, quite fast install rates with Windows 7, Quad Core is crazy fast my friend installed his Win7 in 10 minutes on his new rig.

  • Spotted the WTLib icon.

  • you might take into consideration that given the low spec gpu windows 7 ultimate actually booted with the basic theme which does make a bit of difference as well on the performance; besides that, it is just a confirmation that windows 7 really does behave pretty good whether is 4 years old hardware or brand new hardware

  • where do u get the download

  • Windows 7 Beta1 was freaking amazing, RC i don't know...not so much. I installed beta1 on a inspiron 6000 bought in mid 2005. I had those early ati mobile graphic. 1.6ghz pentium m and upgraded 1.5gb ram. I did that aero hack and jeeze. Everything was enabled! aero, the whole package! Now i upgrade it to RC1 and aero no more even with hacks! Beta +1 RC -1

  • Rtronic/Volvoshine, are you still a virgin?

  • Das Starten dauert ja schon ewig =)

  • It probably wasn't good idea to calculate boot time on 1st boot up (when system is still being configured).

As for everything else, good job.

  • Windows 7 is awesome. I got this Acer a few years ago, AMD sempron 2.0Ghz, 512MB Ram and some crappy via integrated graphics. hate it, gave it to my sister, but i does run 7 and any worse than XP, its bareable on either OS. Just wish the window color could be changed, pretty ugly.

  • interesting! might try it on my old laptop.
