Now this movie is eerie but several things ruin it from being scary. The music for one, it's too much sound during the events. The simple piano melodies that carpenter used suffice to create tension to a point where you feel you ears are piercing. The other thing is they showed michael to much. They shouldn't have shown michael grabbing the nife and stalking. It's scarier to not know where he's coming from. Rather than know where he is.

jason's use of weapons differs. jason voorhees makes me laugh. the way he kills is ridiculous. then you they keep trying to kill his ass and he comes back to life. even in jason goes to hell and jason x. micheal's way of killing just seems like everyday killing. something seen on the news. yes, he's okay. but, all he has is a damn steak knife and a jump suit and newspaper tabliod. everybody in that town knows he's killing. he escaped from a mental hospital. but, jason is a fireball.
Favorite movie of all time was the first Halloween. i love Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasents. This movie was very good. i have no complaints. The remakes were absolutely depressing.

H20 ignores 4 5 6 and 7.
Then there was ressurection which doesn't really have much story to it. Then there were the 2 crappy remakes.

@meatpuppets93 Actually HalloweeN 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode was a working title for the film while it was in production. And HalloweeN III did not suck. I'm assuming you're one of the people who say, "It had nothing to do with Michael Myers so I didn't like it." The HalloweeN series was not meant to be all about Michael Myers. It was supposed to be about a series of events that happened on Halloween every other movie. Which I think would have been a MUCH MUCH greater idea........

And I thought it was really creepy the first time I saw it. I think I was like 12. But anyways, I just think it would have been such a better idea to just keep coming up with fresh new ideas instead of making all the sequels which weren't very successful. HalloweeN 4: The Return of Michael Myers was one of the best of the Myers sequels.

@Beaststatus28 It is... kinda. They used that music in the Scream 4 trailer only. The original music is from the opening to Scream 1 where Ghostface threatens to kill Casey. Marco Beltrami had to add some of Scream 1 and 2's music to this film because John Ottoman's score wasn't considered to be good enough by the producers.
@PRHILL9696 i have read that the original storyline for h20 was supposedly consistent with halloween 4&5&6, but the producer eventually opted for an inconsistent storyline. i would prefer a consistent storyline. bringing back laurie strode and jamie-lee curtis was a good idea, but the story should have been consistent with the previously-released sequels. i think myers and loomis would agree.
Thanks but it makes no sense. Lauri was dead and she had only one kid named Jamie who was pregnant with Michaels daughter to be the final sacrifice of his as part of the Thorn tradition. And Loomis became his guardian against his will after the man in black passed it on to him.

@nmoravec1 The reason why I say Halloween II is a good movie is because I actually liked it. It has quiet a bit in common with the original, though made for the sole purpose of money. For instance, similar camera angles and the way it creates suspense. The only thing that I believe it lacks is the heart of the original. The other sequels are in my mind completely unrespectable and should never have happened.
@TheGoldenShamrocks thats fine. at least you gave your reasons. the majority of people who i ask of why they like Halloween II say they like it just because it continues the story of the same night. other than that, they never gave a legitamate reason. i myself just thought it was crap because it became all about gore. the end made me laugh with how laurie was able to (conveniently) shoot out michael's eyes and yet he's still alive. i think that is equal to shooting him in the head twice.
I also didnt care for how michael suddenly walked and moved in a very slow robotic fashion. some found it creepy but it was laughable and stupid. the characters were just bland and expendable and overall it was just a ridiculous over the top film.

anyone else notice they used the same soundtrack from i believe scream 3 when the kids walking thru the house? makes since since they're both dimension horror flicks.they should have just stuck to the original halloween music, which is much scarier than violins and loud noises lol.

@TheGoldenShamrocks you're not one of those people who just say the movie is good because the original cast and crew did it, plus the fact that it took place on the same night are you? Halloween II (1981) is still a terrible movie. Completely devoid of anything good. The rest of the series is bullshit as well as Rob Zombie's remake and sequel. Too bad, these movies are just cash cows and people keep going to this crap, thus we keep getting more of them.

@nmoravec1 The reason why I say Halloween II is a good movie is because I actually liked it. It has quiet a bit in common with the original, though made for the sole purpose of money. For instance, similar camera angles and the way it creates suspense. The only thing that I believe it lacks is the heart of the original. The other sequels are in my mind completely unrespectable and should never have happened.

@TheGoldenShamrocks thats fine. at least you gave your reasons. the majority of people who i ask of why they like Halloween II say they like it just because it continues the story of the same night. other than that, they never gave a legitamate reason. i myself just thought it was crap because it became all about gore. the end made me laugh with how laurie was able to (conveniently) shoot out michael's eyes and yet he's still alive. i think that is equal to shooting him in the head twice.

I also didnt care for how michael suddenly walked and moved in a very slow robotic fashion. some found it creepy but it was laughable and stupid. the characters were just bland and expendable and overall it was just a ridiculous over the top film.

@nmoravec1 Lol and worst yet, he already lost one of those eyes in the first film. Also it pisses me off how in the fourth movie they bring back Loomis after he clearly died in the explosion at the end of the second. Is he as invincible as Michael Myers now?
