Dude...try 'isobemaki'. Take a block of mochi (the size of which was on the heater in your picture), wrap it in a piece of nori about the same size of the mochi, and pour soy sauce on top. Eat it with a pair of chopsticks, and you'll grow to love mochi that way!

i love mochi! i like it best broken into small chunks and then toasted/broiled in a toaster oven/oven till it's puffy and crispy and then dipped in miso gravy! YUM!

Also, if you make 抹茶 pancakes with these 抹茶ラテ packs from the store, it makes the pancakes super mochi mochi. It's also good if you mix 餡子 in with it. I've been making way too many pancakes lately...
