@qerplonk Alundra (for the ps1 and now the psn) is considered a spiritual sequel to this game. And believe me, Alundra is freaking awesome!

I grew up playing this game, so many good memories. Sadly my original cartridge no longer works :(. Like others have said before me, this is truly an amazing game. If you're into action RPG's this is right up your alley and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

How come everyone keeps calling this an RPG... it's not. It's a platformer. It's an isometric platformer sure, but just because it's not 2D doesn't change anything. You run about jumping on platforms, that's a platformer.

Has anyone else gotten the strange feeling that there is a Landstalker reference in Runescape? I mean the King of the Tree Gnome Stronghold isn't named King Nole, but there are trees that teleport you to different places and a Greenmaze.....it just seems to me that there is a comparison.

I played this game as a little kid and just recently found its name. For the longest time I thought I was looking for some spin-off of Zelda. I guess I wasn't too far off... Still, one of the best games of all time IMO.

Landstalker is one of the greatest RPGs of all time, hands down. None of that turn-based combat, or too many confusing items, or cheesy dialogue, or saving the world from an evil sorcerer. Landstalker cuts through the crap and goes directly to the action. Just one dude and his fairy going after a treasure: a simple story with little twists. great controls. and all the puzzles...

No offense to Phantasy Star 4 or Story of Thor, but this is the best RPG of Genesis. Go play this game!

From this we can conclude the game is OBVIOUSLY a rip-off of Peter Pan.

Basic graphics? They have more charm and atmosphere than most todays lame 3d games! And the music is worth a diamond, prescious! Storyline is perfect too. Games like these make much more fun than all PS3,Xbox games and whatnot combined!

omfg!  This clip takes me back to the nasty old days when I was addicted to this game and loved it soooo much! I finished it, but not without some tears, tiaras and tantrums! I can't believe I spent so much time on this game, considering the very basic graphics, but it was cool for its time. Classic with a capital 'C'!

with the game being in this isometric perspective judging some of the jumps can be very tricky with lots of nasty little ledges to manouvre!!! that said i did manage to complete it.. yeah.....

Wow this is amazing, I just saw this on Wii Virtual Console and thought to check YouTube comments for info on the game. These comments are all amazingly positive! I haven't seen many games where the comments section is filled with so many people saying it is their favorite game of all time.

This is the predecessor of Dark Savior for Sega Saturn, which surpasses Landstalker even though it's a great game anyway. But Dark Savior was awsome.

Great RPG... just make sure you have the Classic Controller if you're planning on downloading it on the Wii VC. It's not required, it just makes playing it a lot easier.
