Ya know...I happen to LOVE this tune, and LOVE her voice, and her piano playing is gorgeous. The words...corny as hell, but, everyone was corny and totally messed up when John died. Would John have liked the song? Who knows? Well, I think we can agree he would've appreciated the sentiment, told in his language: Music.
Do you know Stacey Zuckerman personally? She was actually in some of my music classes when we both attended SUNY @ Stony Brook between 1976 - 1980. I never forgot her tribute to John, and was surprised to see it here! Thanks for posting.
I don't know Stacey but this was one of the most unique parts of the Lennon coverage. She is supposed to be 18 here, so are you sure you went to college with her? She would have been 14 in 1976.
Actually, I had forgotten that she was that much younger than me. I graduated from college in 1980, so she must have been in one of my last classes in my Senior year.

We'll keep his dream alive? What? To callously and publicly dump your wife by appearing naked on an album cover with a con artist like Yoko Ono? Or maybe it means abandoning your son so you can engage in bag-ins on the Dick Cavett Show. He was a hypocritical, cruel piece of garbage. He did write nice songs though.
Hats off to you, sir! I believe you've actually managed to misspell a majority of the words you've written. I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say--perhaps due to the fact that I am a fuckin retrd.

No, I meant he dumped his first wife, Cynthia, by appearing nude on an album cover with Yoko. He also used to beat Cynthia. That peace and love stuff was indeed a dream. It didn't happen in his real life. Like I'd said earlier, he wrote good songs and I loved his voice, but I won't buy into the notion of his being saintlike. He was a highly flawed, hypocritical fellow who happened to be extremely talented as well.
Beautiful voice. Goofy, laughable lyrics, however. Ernie Anastos must've been cringing the whole time. I remember those days but don't remember this broadcast. I applaud the chick for her sincerity, though. She meant well.
i have a single i bought in 1981 titled "John Lennon's Dead", with backwards guitars and stuff, and other-worldly vocals, much better than this hokey tune,I need to dig it up from storage and post it one of these days....it must have been pressed in a very small amount...can't recall the name of the band
I always been a Beatles fan forever including John Lennon. I've never saw the news since I was a baby where John Lennon was dead at 40 in the Dakota Building in Central Park. One of the all-time great singers as part of the Beatles and a solo artist along with his wife Yoko Ono. Yoko is still alive, but she will remember John forever.
I recall Stacey from her days in the music department at SUNY at Stony Brook during the late-70's. She was very talented.
