  • Thank you you just saved me from getting this junk

  • i just bought one of these scopes on my m4 and i have to tell you sniping on full auto really brings a rise in your levis.

  • You say not to recommend buying it, but you said it works fine at home at 70'F. I live in Australia and when i go hunting it never goes below -1'C (30'F) So in warmer temps the camera works fine ???

  • good review i was thinking of getting a Bushnell Video Scope, but now i think ill stick to the bullet cam im already using without any problem,i hope you got sorted out

    10+

  • Thank you Sir for the review. We film here in Alberta, Canada. We are dealing with well below zero temps. It is a challenge with all battery powered equipment but there are lots of products out there designed with that factor in mind.

    Cheers, All the best

    Andrew

  • you're dressed up in full camo and all of your gear is camo but why would you wear a bright orange baseball cap?

  • @alcosher :

    You're obviously not a hunter.

  • @adambe66 yeah sorry i have recently heard that you have to wear an item of high visibility when hunting in certain areas of america. is this right ?

  • @alcosher Not sure if you *have* to but it makes damn good sense. The animals don't care about colors the way we do, not deer anyway. They look for patterns, like the profile of a potential predator or movement generally. Hogs likely see in about the same spectrum we (humans) do, so they might be a bit more color aware. Btw I live in Europe too: Sweden.

  • @adambe66 and in wales we can only hunt rabbits with air rifles which kinda sucks

  • dude why dont you send it back with your vid to show them.

  • you did a great job ! i was gonna get that scope, dont listen to the jerks that talk down to you i can see you know what your talking about you seem like a nice kid.

  • That's how rednecks talks... Retarded.

  • @ss19800 why do you call the man a redneck? his did a great job, i was gonna get that scope, the man saved me a lot of trouble. as for you if you if dont have nice things to say dont say nothing!

  • Great review and thanks for the heads up! I live in Canada and it's going to get much colder as the next few months roll in and if you're having this kind of trouble I can only imagine how much it would suck for me here in Canada during the winter months! I almost bought one yesterday but figured i'd look for some field reviews first.

As for those losers leaving idiotic comments to you, pay no attention to them because in this world there are haters everywhere. Keep up the good work!

    Respect!

  • I appreciate your input on the item. Sad that people leave such ignorant remarks. Anyone with 1/2 an idea would know that your far from redneck trash. Last time I checked rednecks barely can afford Pabst Blue Ribbon let alone afford a 1000.00+ HD camera, 800.00+ gun, 400.00+ scope, and 240 bucks on a bogues scope cam. Not to mention the misc equipment. Best wishes to you brother. 1 shot 1 kill.

  • i dont think these scopes operate in daylight, They turn themselves off if the light is too bright, Try it at night.

  • Camo4x4s you dont have to explain yourself to anybody mate! you do your thing and dont worry about Pleople having a dig at ya! I'd just been looking at this very cam on bushnells website and I came on the tube to get some input from a owner of it.. so thanks for your posting. Rod

  • Thank you so much for the review. I was considering this thing before I watched your video. As for the bashers; To make fun of or put down anyone is to put down his or her creater. There wll be a day of judgement. Have a nice day :) P. S. I hunt in louisiana but it frequently gets down to 30 and below in the winter.

  • What a whiner. What battery powered product works in these temps? None! So you are bashing the product because you can't read the instructions which I'm sure point out the issue. The same thing over and over doesn't make your opinion count. I shot a 308 20+ times with great results, granted when it was 60 degrees out but it took the recoil like a champ. Give it another try or return the product. Your reviews are appreciated but don't overstate things or your credibility drops to zero.

  • wow, 4x4, there's some hostile ignoramuses on youtube.

I never realized that having a southern accent makes you trailer-trash.

I guess I better abandon my 4br. 3bth house and move to the trailer park then, huh?

  • Dude! Thank YOU i have to pay 570$ for this in Denmark, and its freakin coold in hunting season here, so i thank you for saving mee loads of money...

maybe i should invest in a helmetcam and mount that up somehow.

  • @oONuggamusOo

hey man, make some buddies on a u.s. shooting forums and ask them to send you one for the u.s. price ($100 u.s. dollars).

one of my friends in afghanistan got one of these and it is nothing special.

it works, you get video from it but it is average quality video.

it shuts down when it gets below freezing and it isn't sealed very well (definitely not nitrogen purged) because it fogs up instantly when you go from heat to cold and stays fogged up for about 15 minutes.

  • Thanks for the review,

I'm in the UK & they cost a lot more here so even more money saved

  • I was thinking about getting one of these. Thanks for posting this review, you have just saved me about $300. form what I've seen in your test, the product would not meet my standerds.

  • does it come with batteries. if its using standard batteries you may need to use lithium polymer batteries. they arent effected as much by the temperature as much as standard batteries. may just be a 10$ problem not the entire system

  • cant really test if it wont turn on LOL

I won one in a drawing and it work fine though

  • lol 3:15

  • i just recieved this videoscope in the mail yesterday and i charged it tried to turn it on and it doesn't work, i called bushnell and they said it must be defective and to send it in and they will repair it, think im just gonna send it back to cabela's

  • god i wish i had a place to deer hunt. fucking people around here are so greedy. i shot a deer last year in the field out back and some fucker went and took it. 400 yard shot drop it right there and by the time i get back there the people up the street jump on there 4wheelers and go take it.

  • sounds like you need to send some rounds overhead of some dumbshits...

  • lol im sorry to hear that, but that is just Hilarius. up here in Canada I have never heard of that problem happening nor experienced it

  • yeah seems to be for the most part that the further you go north the nicer people are.

  • you need to write a letter to bushnell explaining the story, $230 is alot of money to get burned on, yes it may just be a lemon, but I doubt it. I would imagine if they sent you a replacement it would do the same exact thing. Too bad. Your better off getting a small palm HD recorder, canon, sony, for the same money, maybe a few dollars more. some models have a screen that faces you like the bushnell. THen make a custom mount to mount it on the scope. boom there you go.

  • Stupid

  • I wouldn't buy this product if it were $10 and came with a lifetime supply of batteries. Bushnell SUCKS!!!!!

  • i just bought this product and i had the same problem i can't pick up an image unless it is perfect light and i have to mess with the power button by tapping the power over and over till it turns on and half the time it goes to a blank screen this cam sucks bad....

  • you are too generous

let me say it for you

"Bushnell, your device is a piece of SHIT"

btw, wouldn't a deer see a luminous orange baseball cap?

  • deers cant see orange

  • bushnell is either short staffed or they are saling alot of junk , I have spent most of the day on hold trying to find out about a scope i sent back and still havent talked to anyone

    :(

  • low battries

  • redneck! :)

  • If it aint good enough for a redneck, it aint good enough for the rest of us.

    Thanx for the review.

  • ROFLMAO!!!!!

  • I have never seen one that did work and if its not sunny as hell this camera will NOT pick up any images. Dont be fooled by the 5x zoom fully zoomed in you might be able to see 10yrds.

  • nice metal at the background

  • Have you tried to exchange it? Do they all have this problem?

Well done for posting this video review though

  • you just saved me time and money, thanks !

  • f/]#k what people have to say at the end of the day you done a lot of people a favour posting this video and as you said, there might be some folk that 230 buck is a lot of doller to lose out.

THIS VIDEO WAS GOOD OF YOU TO DO!!

  • Thankyou for showing us this scope, I was wondering about buying one, I see you have a good old Sony, I have a compact sony camcorder that I attach to the rear of my scope and look through it when I am shooting. have a look its called "Fitting camera to rifle scope"

  • culet

  • What if you put some insulation around the video scope to try to keep it warm?

  • That might would work but it seems like a lot of trouble.

  • I actually have lived in nice homes my entire life. My apple desktop alone costs more than some double wides. I have a right to my own opion with out you coming on my videos and calling names just because you don't like what I have to say. I don't have a GED because I graduated high school. Don't be a pin head...

  • @boostimalaka1 Get a life, and stop showing your ignorance like a badge.

  • @boostimalaka1 The best warranty is the one you never have to use.

  • Bushnell makes some the highest end riflescopes in the world. If you learn how to read the instructions you should be able to use this camera just fine. You got donkeypunched!!!

  • Obviously you have never owned a Leopold or a Swarski...

The camera didn't work. I'm not an idiot.

  • no but the way you talk you sound like a idiot redneckfuckupo trailer trash that doesn't know that his countryu invadesother countrys and destroys them

  • I actually have lived in nice homes all my life and have a private education. What do you want me to do about my country and I actually know what goes on because I watch the news 24/7? As far as trash goes... I'm not the one who has nothing better to do than to put other people down to make myself feel better.

  • your name says it all shit for brains......... bushnell high end rifles scopes check out schmidt and bender, zeiss , swarovski.... these are primo....but someone who likes too boosti malaka well just keep wanking shit for brains

  • I want to take this time to thank you for your review!

  • crappy? bushnell?? ok, maybe for scopes but they make Leica binos look like shit!

  • How is your MAC dipshit?

  • The MAC's are great... Both of them.

Just got a MacBook Pro for field editing.

  • Do it got a warrenty if so i would send that shit back to bushnell

  • I doubt it... I might send it back and just tell them to keep it. Send a DVD with a copy of this video. LoL

  • Bushnell does not make the best quality products. I have bought bushnell scopes just for the .22 and 17 but that is all them scopes can really handle.

  • I agree with you... they have never been known for having high quality stuff. I think they sell bushnell at walmart???

  • Yup, they sell them at walmart. Here in Alberta Canada where some of the best mule deer/whitetail deer hunting in the world, they sell them at Crappy Tire. For scopes I typically run a leupold on the centerfire rifles.

  • ooooo, that sux for bushnell!!!

  • Sucks for me to.

    :P

  • i bought the same thing and it sucks in bad weather

  • What does yours do?

  • did you shot anything?

  • Not this trip down. This was my 5th time down to Alabama and the 3rd time coming back empty handed.

    :(

  • I never used one but I feel ya, $250.00 bucks for junk! Thats just wrong!! Thank for the review!

  • My pleasure... More to come very soon! Thanks for voicing your opinion.

  • It should work in cold weather and it should also be able to handle being dropped after all it is a hunting tool.

  • It should. Like I said though... it's a great tool for video. I might have just gotten a lemon.

Not willing to spend another 250 to find out. It's not like Bushnell is making automobiles. It's a simple computerized mechanism and I think it has a lot to do with Bushnell quality. They are probably mass produced in china.

  • LOL

Only in your dreams. My dreams are pretty far fetched too...

  • Is the trouble a product of temperature? If it is then it's not much good since a lot of hunting is done in colder weather. Especially deer hunting. I think 30 degrees in Alabama is unusual but I'm not sure. It's been nearly 0 in PA.

I don't know what a scope like that normally costs but anything you pay $230 for should work.

  • Yeah, it should work. That is why I was so disappointed when it didn't that I made the video in the box stand. Normally, I am quite as possible in the stand after getting settled and getting the video gear set up.

  • thanks camo4x4s 5/5

  • Thanks for watching and rating well!

  • Five Stars!!

  • Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

    1 for each star.

    :D

  • Youre lookin a little tired there, Stu.

  • Yeah, I don't get much sleep when I am in a different state hunting because I'm always to excited about hunting to sleep well. Nice to see you leaving me a comment....

    :)

  • couldnt use it in canada lol

  • Canada is on my list of places to hunt. Want to make sure I have my gear right before I make that trip.

  • Stuart - Too bad about your Bushnell Video Scope. The concept sounds great, but the actual product appears to be flawed. You didnt say where you purchased the scope, but if you had received it from Cabelas, you might have had better luck getting a replacement or refund. My experience with their cust. svc. dept. has always been positive. Ive used them for years and have found them to be a reliable retailer of hunting equip. and outdoor gear. Try Cabelas next time and post a review! - Gene

  • I love cabela's and would rather shop with cabelas rather than a walmart any day. I have been a lifetime customer of cabelas as long as I can remember. I bought my scope at a local sporting good shop. I would of tried to return it but I'm not the best at filling my receipts away like I should.

I really try to shop at my own gun store I just opened here in NC. I can promise you though that we will not be stocking any bushnell video scopes. Thanks for making the point. Might be new hunters here.

  • No... but it's my favorite so far. Nothing is official with me unless it is in writing. I will probably let my subscribers vote on their favorite when I get all entries in.

  • Well that was a bunch of bullshit from bushnell.......What happens if you shoot with it on?Would the image be terrible due to recoil?

  • To be honest .... The image quality looked horrible when it was working. I can find out exact specifications if needed?

You definitely have to keep the gun steady on target after the shot is made to get it on video.

  • that was a good idea on the camera to bad it didnt work. it was probily made for flordia hunters temps rearly get below 60.

  • Yeah, you would think though if they are going to sell it up north though... they would test it in similar conditions.

How hard is it... to stick it in the fridge or freezer for 10 minutes? lol

I should have a job at bushnell. I wonder if they hire monkeys because they would be better off and less liable?

  • Boooyeah!! In yo face Bushnell!! HAHA Did I detect a sense of bitter in your voice?? LOL It's amazing what kind of vengeful ideas we come up with while bored in a deer stand, huh?

    Thanks for the heads-up

  • Hey, if I can help save my fellow outdoorsman some cash in tough economic times and save them a headache... I don't care how boring the video is.

Leopold + Zeiss + Swarski for life. I know I probably spelled them wrong but I'm in a hurry to leave work....

  • what about nikon, i like those.

  • Nikon Scopes or a Videoscope?

  • just scopes. i have a prostaff on my .270 and it is amazing

  • What do you like so much about it?

  • ultra clear, gathers light so you can see right at sunup and sundown and not super expensive.

  • Definitely! Thanks bro!

You're in a hurry to leave work?? You work? Haha Just thought you were that lucky guy that gets to hunt and fish all the time ;) I feel better now LOL

  • I wish youtube payed good enough to quit my full time job so I could do freelance outdoor videography full time.

Maybe one day. I'm just lucky my folks raised me hunting & fishing. There is truly no better pastime then spending time in the great outdoors.

  • That is why animal activist and environmentally minded people are funny to me. They claim to support and protect animals and a clean environment but yet they don't truly understand what is going on because those type of people usually live 99.9% of their lives indoors. Vegans and Environmental nuts usually contribute very little to help protect the outdoors and its creatures compared to hunters and fisherman as far as money and the bottom line is concerned.

  • Never been a big fan of anything bushnell myself. Any recommendations for a good gun/bow mount for a small light camcorder?

  • Yeah, I will make a video on my other video cam system soon. It is a little on the expensive side though.

  • Might do some gator hunting down there in the next year or two... would love to have you along.

  • Yeah, I sure can.... I'll do it in another video.
