  • FTP spent too much on the scope couldn't afford bullets.

  • You're creepy. Sitting there staking out rabbits? Just shoot them.

  • Did you at least eat them???? Its animal abuse if you didnt!!

  • do u have a infored filter on your gun

  • wish u sed u forgot ur bullets b4 me watching 8mins of the video!! nice set up though!!

  • you could of had collateral damage ( 2 kills in 1 ) at 0:49..... lol

  • how much do the nv things cost

  • any thing from£ 250 up to £10,000 and more. mine cost £1400

  • @waroolutak i want to buy

  • why didnt you shot em

  • i was just videoing so people who might be intrested in buying a nv devise can see what they are getting before they buy. i was not pissing about trying to shoot them. they will be there anouther night, well actualy they are dead now. i have posted a short clip shooting some.

  • What kinda gun and ammos are you using in this footage?

  • its my custom .17hmr on a ruger 77/17 action with a volquartsen snake stainless barrel and the stock i made out of a block of black american walnut, pillar bedded.

  • I will go for the same device as you have. I also want to use NV on a 243 so getting a dedicated scope is out of the question, but this is what people are recomending.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for posting this, i have tried a dedicated gen1 scope but found it to be rubbish, the cross was as big as a rabbit and found it difficult to zero.

I fitted an ir filter to my roof lamp and could easy see rabbits to 200 yards with an nv camera. I will be trying a gen1 add-on tonight. I was unsure where to put it onto a 22 or 17, but will opt for the 17, probably. I have gone for the cheap gen1 as a sort of tester, if I get on withit I will get a better nv device, after seeing your cont.

  • Nice footage-I have been using a starlight longbow with one of my mates and am sold on the idea.I shot 4 foxes with my 17 centerfire, using the longbow in one lamping session. The price tag did put me off the longbow ,around £5000,so I was glad to see this footage of the archer looking so clear.I have also used the kite sight with little success as its so high on the mounts.Another good thing is they are British made and not Chinese crap.

  • nice rifle mate, just about to recive my night vision hope its as clear as your lol.

  • you crazy australians

  • Thanks for that. I'm a gamekeeper, so I'll be culling foxes with .243; rabbits with .17HMR and rats with 10-22. Thats why I'm interested in an 'add-on' rather than dedicated NV scope:- but I'm getting a lot of negatives from people trying to sell me scopes. Watching your vid, though, I think a visit to Julien is in order!.

    Many thanks

  • have a look at my other vids their is a bit of shooting with the archer. i know it cost a bit £1400 but i have had gen 1 add ons etc and proper nv scopes, this beats them all. i shot 1 fox at 180yds with no ir one night. this gen 3 works better on cloudy nights believe it or not.the vid is a bit darker than real life. i dont think you will be dissapointed as long as you have a decent scope to put it on.

let me know how you get on.

    Cheers

  • What range are these rabbits at?. I'm about to buy NV; but am getting confused by different sellers - all claiming their's are best!.

  • the furthest is about 150 yds. what will you be shooting?

  • Hehehe! "Bang, Bang!" I love it! You should get some hunting footage for us mate!

  • check out my other vids new rabbits with this nv. short but sweet

  • Nice looking stock on the hmr.

  • Oh by the way, give me some further info about the night vision you are using and how to adjust it with the gun.

    Sorry to bother..

  • Wow.. nice footage mate. that scope is quality. what is it exactly? and what sort of money are you looking at to buy one?

your vids are great, keep up the good work. guessing your a keeper or sumit like that?

  • its a star light gen 3 d grade Archer. it cost £1400.

Thanks, im glade you like them.

im not a keeper, ive just got a lot of land to shoot on with my shooting buddy.

i know the scope was cost a lot but ive had gen1 and this pisses all over them. i get alot of fun from it and never miss a thing with it.

    Cheers

  • boring shoot them dont mark your tag as shooting if you aint going to even shoot that shit gun no m8 your the dick

  • Sort your life out you fucking prick.

was you dissapointed nothing died, what a shame. GROW UP

  • Hows that scope not cut your eye every time you fire it. That thing is back way far.

  • that is a rubber eye piece thing your eye is about an inch and a half away from the lens. it also stops any light reflecting off your face.

  • Any thoughts on a good generation 1 night scope for hunting? I have about 700 to spend and was hoping this was realistic for purchasing a new or used night scope (I have a bolt action 7 MM.)Most of my shots are under 70 yards.

  • the merlin scope attachments are good gen 1 add ons. if you get the laser with it that will do you great. the cobra merlins with laser cost about £600 ish. you will need an additional IR light source through a Scope.

  • Thanks for the info. 600 pounds would be about 1200 in US dollars. I'll check into the Merlin night scope.

  • wonderful!!!what are you using attached to your day scope??i've never see it before, it is a night visors?send me information please, thanks

  • in my country it's illeagal to use night vision scope in hunting, for that you can get 8 years in prison.

  • what country are you from? that is intresting.

  • you are a dick

    killing rabbits u bitch

  • didnt see any rabbits being killed!

    You Dick!

  • how much was that?

  • yep, it just twists off. uses a bayonet connection.

    it cost £1400

  • can you turn night vision off in day time and still use it? or do you just take it off and put a day time scope on?

  • do you think the d760 is a better scope the archer is abit out of date some one said to me .what you recon

  • I love my Archer as you might have guessed, no probs in seeing targets & so easy to put on any of your rifles, what more could you want

  • there you go,

ive got an AGS 4-16 x 56 scope works really well, as you can see

  • shoot!!!!! lol

  • Just wondered if the 17 scares a lot away at night, I should be picking up my Archer next week & was going to use it mostly with my .22 rim with Mod & subs but the benefit of not having to judge distance quite so accurately does sound good, The quarry where I shoot are very nervous & run at movement even 140 yards away & very lamp shy, the sound of the hummer usually means one shot & move along, is this still the case in the dark as most of the work I do at the moment with the 17 is at dusk

  • so what do you think? you must of got it by now. im interested in another opinion or view.

as to your question, No believe it or not it doesnt. the other night i shot 5 rabbits 120yds away, all within 30 yrds of each other

  • Haven't used it on the 17 yet but just waiting for a new scope to arrive any day now, I was using Bushnell elite tactical 6.5X24 on both the 22LR & 17 & I wasn't convinced they suited the Archer, I changed the 22LR for a Leupold VXIII 4.5 X 14, What a transformation, I have no probs now seeing out to 250yrds in cloud covered nights, , I love the stealth of it all, nothing or no one knows your about, I've had 160 rabbits & 5 fox's in about 15 outings ,I'll keep you posted

  • that WOULD have been an easy kill

  • omfg, i was like SHOOT ALREADY!!!!

then 3/4 through the video, he says, "i wish i had of brought some bullets."

    omfg.....

  • in my own defence i said just that to myself, on the other hand i only went out with the vid to see what it would come out like. i did not expect to see that many MoFos. lets just say they are no longer with us RIP

  • MAGNIFICENT equipment you have! Night time hunting with a silencer must be a blast.....

  • It appears that you are using a filtered lamp on top of the scope rather than an IR unit, any reason for this as the starlight unit is meant to be top draw?

  • yeah at the time they had not finished making the lasers. so i was using my cluson lamp with ir filter that i used with my gen 1 xvd attachment. i now have the laser and it is very good. ive yet to compare the two but when you wind the mag up with the laser, the picture gets a bit grainy where the lamp is a cleaner light.

  • ive shot 8 foxes at 100m no problem at all with the lasr and 2 foxes at 170ydswith the lamp no prob ive also shot 1 fox at 180 yds with no lamp or laser just cloud light(street light amplified by clouds)this gen 3 does work better on cloudy nights, and its gotto be proper dark before the ir's start to work.

  • the laser is included in the price and for size and weight its the best you can get. the clue 1 mill lazer lamp is very good but its a bit of a pain in the arse bolted on to your rifle with wires etc im going out fri night with it so ill try and get some vid using the laser.

  • good god, 1.4 moa, just insane. gotta love those rugers. beautiful gun man! got a marlin .17 hmr myself, called in a coyote and my buddy dropped it with my gun at 168 yards. called in a mountain lion one night, let that one pass, .17 may be badass, but it's a little light for a cougar lol.

  • you sould put a silencer on that rifle.

  • got one.

its an ASE ultra Jet Z CQB, dead quiet. you still hear the crack of coarse.

i left it off as i just went out to video. keeps the weight down.

  • Sweet, you can fix that super-sonic "CRACK" with the use of sub-sonic ammunition.

    You probably already know that.

  • i would like to, but that rifle is a .17HMR going out at 2000odd fps.

i use this NV on my moderated .22 CZ 452 as well and that is stealth with Eley subs.

    Cheers

  • is that the jet Z for a rim or centre fire

  • centre fire, abit ott i know. but i wanted the best. i had the chance to hear several diffrent mods all together, T4, SAK, jet-z and one other i cant remember. without the sonic crack.basicly shooting into a pile of phone books. the diffrence was amazing. so in a moment of madness it was done.

  • I've got a jet-z rim & a centre fire one for a 223 would that go better on the 17 ?

  • i dont know, try it if you can. thats supposed to be a good rim mod, never heard one.for the powder charge there might not be much in it. i wanted to use the Jz mod on my .223 but the jet z has a fine thread cut and wont fit. so i use a T8 on the .223

  • now THAT is a gun!

  • cheers. i left the sound moderator off to do the vid. thats anouther reson i did not shoot any.

    glad you like it.

  • I take it you're in the UK too? Seriously, I didn't know you could get guns like that over here - apart from it looking utterly leathal it is seriously beautiful!

    What is it?

  • thanks,

well its a Ruger 77/17 with a Volquartsen snake fluted barrel and the stock i made myself out of a lump of American Black walnut. ive pillar bedded the action and it now shoots 3/8 to 1/4" groups at 100 yrds. if you look at my other vids i used it on the rats and squirrels oh what fun. thanks for your comment, ill show the rifle in day light on a seperate vid. ill let you know when.

    cheers

  • omg u have the rifle u have the scope U HAVE THE SHOT but u don't have a bullet omfg

  • i know, i was a bit gutted. but i just popped out quickly to see what it would be like videoing through the rifle scope and did not expect to see that many. so my next mission is to blow away some of those little darlings whilst filming. no problem
