I'm sure the retiree's that bought that nice lake house across the way are appreciating the unbearably loud screams of that pulse jet engine rattling their windows...
@mcsnowman11 G'day... Aren't we the impatient one ? Try watching the 2nd half of the clip. Read the Description ! You spat the Dummy over the Test-Run. It's an AMPHIBIOUS Jet Kayak. @xjet... Munchekin, if I hadn't flown in a Victa 120 Powered, 2-Axis Control Aeroplane, with Single-Surface Aerofoils, I'd be able to say wou were as Meat as a Mad-Axe...; but, as things stand, WOW, I'm impressed ! Your Eccentricity is approaching Legendary proportions !
@Austyg jet engines are not best-suited to slow vehicles like a Kayak. The difference between the olympic rower and the jet engine is that the olympic rower will produce no thrust at all at 100mph but the jet engine will still be pulling strong ;-)
@MarshaRandolph Might I suggest that to engage in such an action may result in significant burns to a rather sensitive part of your anatomy. I recommend you reconsider your stated course of action before hurting yourself.
@MarshaRandolph thats pretty funny from someone in the fashion industry, dont you have 15yo's to be using up instead of drinking haterade and watching youtube?
Sorry, I did not mean any disrespect, xjet, I actually think you are an interesting person. I am interested in this type of science, but it seems as though any experimentation that includes flammable liquids or gases has historically quite literally blown up in my face. Again, no disrespect meant.
@TheDogsnout2 Might I suggest that to engage in such an action may result in significant burns to a rather sensitive part of your anatomy. I recommend you reconsider your stated course of action before hurting yourself.
I wonder what would happen if you put that kayak on a hyrdafoil... if he had enough speed for the foils to raise it out of the water he could go much faster.
lol i loved the glasses magically moving from his eyes to his hair and back wile he was racing. impressive!! also i was curious as to what the effect would be of adding water into the jet as sorta an afterburner. basically more expanding gas more power!!
maybe you could use all the heat made from the pulse jet and put it all at the bottom of the kayak creating the leidenfrost effect so there will be less friction. maybe even 2 pulse jets
@Skydive4ever I worked on the "Drag Boats" episode of Junkyard Megawars and basically had to build a large pulsejet for the show in less than a day -- because the team I was helping just had no clue at all how to fabricate an engine. There's video elsewhere on my channel showing some "behind the scenes" footage from that episode.
@TheExtremeAnimation yeah i know and i also said he would and has posted video's of it ;-) see so we didn't need you to try and tell us all about it lol,but i can sort of understsand why you would be excited about it ;-)
I remember seeing this on TV a few weeks ago. The first pulsejet you tried looked very cool, but sadly it failed. Could you make one work that looks like that fist one you tried on the kayak, and put it on a plane? And is it more powerful/does it deliver more power than your normal everyday single tube pulsejet, like the second one you tried on the kayak that worked?

That was too cool!!! A pulse jet powered Kayak now thats a good way to motor hands free. You should strap the German V-1 on that thing.
apismellifera1000 2 months ago
Great video! Another reason I miss home - they'd never do this over here, not with a kid strapped in!
Duly subscribed after seeing the Vampire flying - in the 70's there used to be one on display at Woodbourne outside Blenheim. Beautiful plane.
I've got a lot of your vids to get through!

Seems the power of this engine is not much better than olympic kayaker's rowing strength. :(

@jarrodcorl look up hydrokayak. They work fine, due to the mass of boat (around 10-12kg) compared to the area of the foils.
