Good piece. I don't agree with non violence. I disagree with allowing our children to be on the front lines while we hide in our homes and the only ones that are safe are the ones that do the same. Adults should be on the streets with the guns! We should be protecting our children forcefully from drug dealers, rapist, pimps and gangs.

well i attend North Lawndale college prep my school neighborhood isn't good at all but when i walk into my school it makes me feel different about my surroundings when i wait at a bus stop i have the risk of being shot in the 'ghetto' as u may call it people shoot for fun around here so the CDC told u about where you live not worldwide problems people get shot almost every other day around here all you need is 1 gun 2 protect your family

I just read the article about this film in the Chicago Tribune and I entirely agree that something needs to be done and I comend the teenagers, people my own age, who made and are in the film for standing up and finally saying enough is enough. As for the person below me you are ignorant, using a general statistic to prove your point is idiotic. There is a big difference between people using a gun for hunting and protection and people running the streets with weapons better suited for war.

According to the CDC, you are 53 times more likely to die from an automobile than you are from a gun. You people are ridiculous. Why not call for a ban on cars?

We need decent jobs for people. It is an economic issue! If people could take care of their loved ones, they wouldn't need to lie, steal, cheat or kill. What kind of jobs and futures are we providing for our young?
