It's a shame you can't get all four in sync unless you use cassette adapters, as all Teddies run at slightly different speeds - even with fresh batteries and the same tape.
Hey blueoctopede, would you believe I found one of those Grubby's at a Goodwill store? Needless to say, I grabbed him cause I didn't know at the time that they made them, did they make any of the other characters?
Did you put the Grubby eyes in repair #1? I thought about doing it but I'm not sure the eyes come out of Grubby without breaking (like Teddy's do if you try to remove them).
@cranie4 The lady I bought the faceplate from swapped them for me; they were leftover stock and weren't glued. I bet if you heated the plastic the glue would melt and you could get the pieces apart... Or you could just try prying them apart with brute force.
@SaiyanLady I've been collecting them since I was very little; I got my first when I was only five! There are many different types of chemicals to clean up battery corrosion, but what I use is plain ol' rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. If you get it damp (not soaking wet!!!) and let it sit on the corroded parts it'll soften it up to where you can scrape the little bits off.
the one on the left sounds just like my brothers teddy ruxpin. he's in really good condition but I think his mouth doesn't work and the airship tape sounds worn. my mum said its the batteries but I think I'm right sadly.
Last weekend I had a dream in which I was watching a video in which you had 4 Yes Teddies playing together, they were all playing the same tape. The closes anyone's come to that is the YouTube user Mossamoe who had 3 Yes Teddies in one video playing different tapes one after the other.
Is the Teddy Ruxpin on the left the one you repaired most recently? I remember from your videos on that one that it played a bit slower than it should.
When I first got my WOW Teddy Ruxpin, my best friend convinced me to do the same thing with both my Teddy Ruxpins, I have them sitting on either side of me, what a big head trip that was, both of them had The Airship in them, and very quickly they went completely out of sync. I'm noticing that some of the tapes are playing slower than others, is that just because of the batteries, or do some of them play slower even with fresh batteries?
@Lachlant1984 It's a combination of both, really. That's why I don't film my blue-eyed bear as much as the one on the far right- he plays tapes as a constantly slower speed than my other bears. On the other hand, you can see the 2 servo is going absolutely nuts with brand new batteries. He plays tapes the fastest. It's odd how all of them work just a little bit differently!
@blueoctopede I can hardly even hear the one with blue eyes, but certainly the second to last one on the right there is playing the tape quite quickly, it sure does play fast. The slowest one I'm hearing is the one on the extreme left, that's what mine sounded like when I first go it, but now mine plays tapes at the right speed, it sounds more like the second to last or the one on the extreme right.
@blueoctopede Even if the batteries were all freshly charged it still wouldn't make any difference, the tapes would still go out of sync very quickly.
@garry12gg If you're referring to the Answer Box or Picture Show, I have neither. If you're referring to Goofy and Hector, I've tried hooking both up to Teddy and sadly neither will work.

@SaiyanLady Nope, he's it! They made hand puppets for Tweeg, L.B. and Wooly, but no other talking toys.

@blueoctopede I can tell you from multiple experiences Brute force has only 1 result with this plastic ;)
That's what I need to find then. A few leftover stock. I should have made a video like this. I had 14 in the shop at once. Now THAT would be a noise!
cranie4 11 months ago
@cranie4 The Grubby eyes were actually left-over stock, so they hadn't been assembled and glued together yet. Made things much easier!!
