@wolverine19076 The hardware store. You can use steel, or even a wire coat hanger, I had the rod laying around...

How thick should the blade of your knife be?

@wolverine19076 whatever you can find that you think will hold up. This blade is about 5/16. BUT any blade will break if you pry on it, or burst the handle. Its made for sticking really, not swinging and cutting like I did. However, I've used it pretty rough and its held up.

Great Stick! made a couple, similar idea, just had no router so it made it a bit more difficult.
