This performance was awesome. First time *I've* ever seen an Idol contestant produce his own arrangement! The judges don't know talent when they see it. The two bores they keep pushing on the audience won't get very far. Blake is going to be a huge star after this no matter what...ahem, Daughtry.

I agree... The judges are just too narrow minded when it goes down to this... Blake is amazing!!! He has lots of ideas, creativity, brilliance when it comes to this kind of performance... Did you sEE the way he was revolutionizing the Diana Ross song by trying to incorporate his vocals in his laptop? I mean, WOW! Only a true artist would really find a way to research a style to match the performance he and the audience is lloking for.. Go GO GO BLAKE BUDDY!!!

I think if he had used a mic stand, his vocals would have carried more impact (think of how good he sounded when singing it to D.Ross!). I say, stand in one spot on the stage and draw the audience in to you, on some of these songs! Like the Keane performance-- he can command the stage. i love this guy, but I agree that he needs to focus on his vocals. He has a great voice but it feels to me like he cares more about the performance than about the quality of his vocals. His singing for Diana with just the piano was amazing. I liked his performance here(at least it was interesting) but it felt to me like he was competing with his own arrangement.

I completely agree! I thought what he did was new and quite talented, he's well rounded as an artist and perfromer. Diana Ross even said he made it modern. Why do it the way its already been done? And he could totally have a hit with that at clubs and on the radio.
