A few characters from SG1 show up a few times on SGA, including starring on a single season, and there's a few ties to SG1, but it's mostly it's own show.

Both this an SG-1 were great shows. Both should've lasted longer than they did. Admittedly, SG-1 had a good 10 seasons, but it still would've been nice if they had continued.

I don understand why SGA wascancelled--it was so successful. It won at least one award that I know of (cant remember which at the moment!) but th whole show was just so excellent and entertaining!! I love all the cast and the way they played off of one another so well. I really dont get cancelling this show when it had so much more potential, like in Vegas-exploring different AU's.... SGU wasnt even close to being as good--too dark and dreary. SGA was my favorite show-ever!!!

I have only watched the first six episodes, so I don't consider myself an expert, but compared to Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Star Wars, this show seems to stand out a great deal to me, even though I will admit Mackay was based almost completely off of Scotty and Doctor Moccoy, with the latter to a lesser extent. I admire Major Sheppherd's approach of doing what is right in his mind despite no plan. Also, that one guy with the attitude is rather unique for a scifi.

SGA can take a bit to get into, it can be really good sometimes though in a variety of ways. This intro is basically a trailer for the pilot, the later intros have some clips with some bigger space battles and stuff.

To lay it out simply, Stargate SG1 had The Lost City as the last two episodes of season 7, then the first two episodes of season 8 were called New Order, then Atlantis happens after that.

When in doubt look at when the episodes aired.

Some people complained about the all in one set, even saying it might make some not play.

Anyway, a good deal considering buying all five seasons on itunes in standard definition is $200, and you don't get the special features and having it permanently and being able to watch them unconverted is great.

well actually the show did get cancel they air the final season earlier this year, but a new series is suppose to be coming out it called Stargate Universe and it's suppose to be coming out either in september or October of this year.

Actually, there is an appearance of a Goauld, and a quick scene where we see Kull warriors, as well as several references to the Goauld and Anubis and Ba'al, but they're pretty quick, and they mention the Ori once.
