Richard Dawkins never said he believed that intelligent aliens seeded life on Earth, but merely offered it as a possibility. I can say it's entirely possible that the Christian God exists, but it is very unlikely and that is why I don't believe it. If you'd just listen Richard Dawkins says no one knows the origin of life yet. There is no theory on the origin of life, but speculation, most prominently abiogenesis.

Dawkins is actually putting to the rest the idea of intelligent design by suggesting the designer of man is either created by someone else or appeared out of nothingness. For the OP, this is not an argument FOR God or anything like that, it is a logic argument refuting such a belief. He is suggesting to believe in God/Allah/FSM, you need to either believe something else created God, or that it exists outside the Universe, which raises more questions than it answers.

I'm glad that somebody finally attributes Mendel as well, but that's just the part of it you see in highschool. There are still more things to the theory. Like these days scientists are researching why evolution appears to happen in short bursts rather than as a "smooth" process. I honastly don't know all there is to know about evolution, but I recall there being more things to it than darwin and mendel at a universitary level...

There's a lot to know about evolution, what you're talking about is Goulds' Punctuated equilibrium. Organisms stay stable for long periods of time, then evolve rapidly in response to sudden changes in their environment.

It's sad that so many are fundamentalistically religious to a degree where they can't appreciate all the things we can learn about life..

I feel inclined to disagree.

While the existence (or lack thereof) of God is non-falsiable and there is no proof one way or the other, at least it is not overcomplicated.

On the other hand, alien life that had reached Earth without divine intervention would still require spontaneous generation somewhere along the road, therefore making it an unnecessary hypothesis, no more probable than for the origin of life to be on this planet.

I never said alien life had to reach Earth. If you think about the billions of planets there are, the probability of there being intelligent life is reasonable. The very fact that there is life on Earth, knowing there is a possibility that there could be life elsewhere is greater than smuggling in a creator.
