I think its cause Arabs are mostly very religious people. They mention god in everything, even if it is only a football match. They feel god is in their lives daily. It's not like in england where you wouldn't hear the commentators say "oh my god"
@intonton1, it's like 'oh god' or 'omg' or any similar expression, has nothing to do with samir being a muslim like rvp42 said, you could here similar things when messi or other players score amazing goals.
