my aunt came round my first house when i was born to do some house cleaning, (as my dad, naturally, was too lazy too do it). when she was hoovering, my old cat Fluffy laid down in front of the hoover. my aunt called my mum an told her this, to which my mum said "just hoover the cat". and lo and behold, the cat was hoovered! XD

@DieNoSoar You can't read cat body language, can you? Cats aren't "too nice" about something. That's a human social response. Cats don't think that way. If they don't like something, they run away, and if they can't do that, they hiss, bite, growl, and otherwise threaten as much as they can. If that cat was truly afraid that its owner would abuse it, there wouldn't be a video. Can you see its eyes? If it were afraid the pupils would be huge. They're clearly not. That cat is not unhappy.

@DieNoSoar Cats react that way when being petted. Its ears aren't flat, they're just pointed in the opposite direction, to protect them. That cat is in an affectionate/playful mood. Its tail is swinging back and forth in a contented manner. My cat is like this when she gets all riled up. She gets excited and playful and lovey - exactly like this cat is acting. And you can tell this cat likes it as it sticks its head into the vacuum.

@DieNoSoar aha yeah have u ever had a cat before? if a cat doesnt like something they dont go along with it. that cat was obviously in an affectionate mood,if it was afraid for its safety it would have tried to hurt the owner or run away from the vacuum. that cat was staying in the exact same spot, sticking its face already, obvs lovin it. for example my mom tried it on my cat she didnt like it and sratched my mom they dont hide theyre dislike for anything

As someone who has tested this "eyeball" theroy on over thirty cats I can say that that does not work. I even threw one into my truck engine but nothing happened. If anything I would say that the cats hurt the motors more than the motors hurt the cats.

Contrary to what you may have read on the internet/been told in the playgournd/ seen in a bad movie, the fact is that a mammal's eye is pretty well anchored in its socket. There are various muscles connected directly to the eyeball as well as the optic nerve holding it in place. A household vacuum will not pull it out.

There is some danger though, if the metal tube part of the vacuum comes in direct contact with the eye, it could damage the cornea.

Haha the vac seems to be set very soft, it does not even really suck any hair of the cat into the tube. So I dont think its gona harm the cats eye. If anyone doubts, go and see some vacs at the shops. You will surely find some vac which can have set the sucking strength ;)

I will say that it is dangerous as if it got a good hold/suction on the eyeball, yes it coudl pull it out of the socket. My mom would vacuum the dog but she always put the "duster" attachment on it thus preventing it from suctioning on to the skin or other body parts. It also acts as a brush to get out the loose fur. Perhaps this would be a good idea for her too. I know people think, "it won't happen..." but when it does (and it can), the damage is permanent and your guilt - endless.
