Ok, I wonder if Smith really understand what he read about the "smote" and the 'beam". Jesus DID say to take the beam out of your own eye, then you take the smote out your brother's eye, but look at the difference. A smote is small, a beam is large. What Jesus was saying is, "You've got enough issues of your own that's clouding up your view. So, how can you even think about trying to point someone else's issues, when, compared to yours, are much smaller.

@brentduanefoster U R definitely on the right track. I noticed something tho...can I share? That word is MOTE, not "smote" in verses 2-5. SMOTE is past tense of the word SMITE, which means to strike with a firm blow. A MOTE is indeed a (small) particle or speck, which Jesus contrasts against the (large) beam. I would like to recommend an excellent half-hour video to listen prayerfully called "Jesus Misquoted" from Beyond Today TV that spends more time dealing with righteous judgement. Shalom.

The only reason he can come to this conclusion is becuase the bible contradicts itself. Just because you find once section that allows you to judge the 'unjust' doesn't mean that it doesn't also say that only the lord can judge. ha ha. Coming from a book that has been edited time and time again. Wasn't put together until 300 years after christ died. Isn't written by a single eye witness and has been proven to be historically and scientifically wrong! ha
