You are in the top ten as I think StephenEl got confirmation from both the #1 and #2 players.
I met Carlos in NYC in '07 and I have no doubt his score is for real. He actually had just over 500K in '07 until Senobeya beat him with 508K. Then, I believe early '08, Carlos got his 520K.
IMO the top twenty players share the same skillset...but it's just a matter of luck and circumstance whether you get 490K, 500K or more.
Yeah, the game is evil... lots of luck required to get to the 500k mark (although some considerable skill too). I'm amazed to see some players seem to get there each week. 8)
It is still an awesome run. My high is 516k, but I have only gotten higher than your 506k two or three times. It doesn't matter how good you are, it is still hard to break 500k. You have to have a lot of skill and a little luck (a lot of luck is even better)
I wasn't sure about the cdborrego score either. It still isn't 100% confirmed because there isn't a video. It is just assumed that it is real because of who he is. The score has been up there for a LONG time.
I saw your score on the weekly leaderboard and was waiting to see a video. Welcome to the 500k club.
I think that we are pretty sure that only two of the top scores (#1 & #2) are bugged. Senobeya's is obviously real since he has a video of it on youtube and cdborrego is Carlos Borrego who won the Pac-man World Championships.
I am still playing this stupid game. I am sure that 530k is possible and it would be great to knock out that #2 fake score. My life would then have meaning ;)
Yeah, it's maddeningly addicting - and evil. I'll probably keep playing too.
I know based on how the ending of this game went that had the ghosts just bunched up a little better - particularly before the 0:30 mark - I could have made much higher a score. 8)
Oh well - I'm still quite happy about it.
Thanks for the feedback. I've adjusted the video description slightly. (I wasn't sure about "cdborrego"... that score appeared so long ago, far before anyone else was even close... 8) ).
Nice Channel Icon....I got a can of that Pac-Man energy drink for Xmas!
