  • This Band was White Men,All WhiteMen,No influenece from anyone".Dont step on the grass SAM" is an example of how not all White Artists are influenced by Old Black Artists. Some are influenced by their Heart...their inner Spirit. These guys were on their own level of Music.

This Band sounded like no other. This was SOLIDWHITESOUND!!!

  • This is fake!

The singer is not John K.

  • yeah ! nice !

  • for their age they look good

  • Did they use drugs ???

  • duh

  • Much better than Johnny Winter, and I like Johnny Winter! Many of the white folks began to get down on this one. Hippies forever!

  • Thank You Gutarman..!

  • John Kay is still kickin and a rockin ~~man he is still as good as he was when we were kids..hell he is even better looking now than he use to be I think!

  • scardybug loved this. Scardybug gave you 5 *****.

  • Kay has the voice to pull this off with AUTHORITY.

  • Wow, what a nice surprise, this really smokes. John Kay is ageless, saw him in '71 in Boston. Ever notice how many different ways bands play this figure? Muddy's, Clapton's, Healy's, Steppenwolf, they're all different and they're all good!

  • pretty fly for a white guy

  • hahaha

  • John Kay is still sexy as hell just like he was when I first saw him 40 years ago! Yikes!

  • Everybody covers the old blues standards. The modern blues guys, the classic rock bands and especially the southern rock bands. From the Beatles, Chuck Berry, The Stones, The Who, Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Clapton, they all have done the original blues and mosly doen them well. It's a great tribute to a great era in music. Growing up, I never realized just how old these songs were. At the time, I thought they were new! Hah! Not hardly, and I grew up in the 60's!

  • john kay is one of the credible musician in the musicscene

  • Very Nice Version, Of Course, Can't Nobody Touch The Master Mr. MUDDY WATERS, but Still, A Very Awesome Effort! I Didn't Know Steppenwolf could REALLY get down on the Blues like this.

  • this was how i heard them first...

Early Steppenwolf, 1969 (recorded in 1967 as The Sparrow)

  • Joachim Fritz Krauledat alias John Kay einfach klasse

  • Their studio version on their first album that precedes BORN TO BE WILD is my favorite version.

  • for me too

  • Eric Burdon's version is the Best!!!!

Steppenwolf was the opening act for The Animals in the 80s.

  • Great rendition of this classic Blues standard. Everybody tries to do justice this one. That concert was the golden moment in the continued history of blues music in America.

Before I knew better, I wasn't hip to their blues sound,....

    their stuff is solid.

  • Mmmm. Racism is funny. Music is about what's inside. Not what colour your skin is outside dumbass.

  • So true about John Kay

  • Thaz right...no-fuckin-buddy can compare to Mr. John kay--- this is the face of rock, theryre all good the dude with the red gibson even looks like that dude from steppenwolf#1 ......rock and roll baby

  • Nobody can compare to John Kay ( Joachim Fritz Krauledat ).. the best of the best~ A premium East German Export

  • Woooooo Hooooo! Love it!

  • is that danny J . cuz when i saw them his hair wasn't the same

  • Love Ya John Kay..♫♫♫

  • ron hurst is my drum teacher

  • good apart from the squeaky american lady at the end interrupting if only there were a stuidio copy of pusher ahww

  • John Kay is one cool dude!

  • I miss the stoned blond guy in the women's clothes...lol

  • John Kay....and a bunch of young guys....that's all...

  • Yeah, but would you rather listen to one of the other faux Steppenwolf bands without John Kay? I'll take whatever band John Kay's fronting any day! :D

  • So how many of these guys were in the original group in the sixties? The bassist and organ player look different but they may have just aged.

  • John Kay is the only one from the original group in the 60's. Of the remaining band, Michael Wilk (keyboards) has been part of the band for longer than Danny Johnson (guitar) or Ron Hurst (drums). I'm diggin' Danny's long hair in this video. lol
