Umm.. kenny florian had to fight and beat big guys up at middle weight just so he could get into the ufc. Then fucked everyone up in the light weight devision. You have got to be kidding yourself my friend. The science of mixed martial arts is alot different then Grappling/boxing/jui jitsu/wrestling. Things can go completely different when your throwin your fists .. it opens alot of things up and your not just thinkin about gettin takin down and subbmitted.. your thinkin about gettin clipped/cut

The context of the original, however, is no-gi BJJ, which is a sport of its own that is obviously distinct from vale tudo or other forms of MMA. Therefore, the comment about someone being lucky it wasn't an MMA fight is baseless, because it's NOT an MMA fight and nothing could change it to an MMA fight. It simply was a competition, one that he lost given the parameters.
