  • I friggin hate platformers today, but back in the olden days where Fire and Ice, Superfrog and Turrican reigned, it was wonderful !

  • 1:25:45 Gribbly's Day Out ;)

  • All the little details that went into Andrew Braybrook's games were great :)

  • 05:33 Kirby Soundeffect when he enters a door

  • ist genauso wie mit den alten disketten einige adf files wollen einfach nicht

  • MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!

  • 1:20:32 i dont know what should i do with this keyhole :/ Need help!

I'm jumping on it and firing ice (lol) on it and nothing happens

  • @arczibeatbox

You need all 6 key parts!

  • @cubex55 :-E Yes i know! But check out 1:20:32, that's an other keyhole than always (litlle yellow)

  • @arczibeatbox

Probably picked up a key that opens it, just watch it and you probably see it ;)

  • @cubex55 Damn:/ That key was in a previous level :/ I didn't notice it. I'll never finish this game, even with unlimited lives! This game is soooo hard!

  • Great game!

  • That was one of the first games I played on my first computer. so many fond memories of that game <3

  • sure brings back memories

  • cool game i used to own this back in the day

  • The music sounds quite Atari ST esque !

  • Amiga gamesmakers loved using that sunset effect. What I liked about Fire and Ice is that reflection effect of the overall gameworld at the bottom of the screen, the overview of the level (and its music) at the start and the music on the first level which has quite a throaty but classical, uplifting quality to it.

  • I can't seem to find this game anywhere.. any help?

I did find one but it required the manual to find a key on a certain page of it.. :-(

  • @FlyLeafDude87

    google planetemu :)

  • @cubex55 planetemu <3 I've been going there since at least 2000

  • Brings back the days on the Amiga. Awesome game.

  • 1:34:00

    SWEET RAVE PARTY

Lovin' this game - even after all these years :)

  • @ Schlauchi I can see you used the Fire and Ice version where even if you lose a live...the amount of lives stays the same...it gets up if you find an extra life but you cant lose it....it's not cheating but yeah...;-) but by the way I love your longplays

  • @busterflex

This happens when you get more extralives then the game can display - if you still get more and lose some you cant see it :)

  • @cubex55

Sorry, you are right! Like in the description you wanted to record CD32 version. I am playing the AGA A1200 version with advanced graphics but the original soundtracks ;-)

  • This game has the best ending ever... No other game offers such a big reward for completing the game.

  • At 3:30 and you've still not started the damn game... for fuck sake, I don't have all day.

  • @TornadoCreator

First of all, people want to hear the intro music when they watch longplays!

Second, YouTube has invented something called a "slider bar" at the bottom of the video - that so called "slider bar" is used to skip parts of the video, so why dont you use it?

  • @cubex55

That's fine, I watch let's plays on YouTube a lot and have watched some of the other longplays on your channel. I get that some people want to see the intro music, but after 3 minutes was it not repeating itself because it certainly sounded like it to me.

  • @TornadoCreator

No it doesnt repeat, the track ends at a specific point which is exactly when i press start ;)

  • oh boy - that are fine memorys!!!! What a wonderful game. And hey: does anybody in the world now, at which specific moment in the game a score-bonus has been activated? I finished this game 100s of times and I was able to play it just for highscore reasons with eyes closed. But now and then (and I don't know exactly when) there was a special score-bonus and the points are higher then normal... anybody had the same experience?

  • I can finally find out what happens after the water level :( Loved this game, but it kept breaking down after that fish boss :(

    Weapons were so cool..!

  • I love this game. Cool Coyote is cute! :)

  • How do you fire those Snow Flake bombs?

  • @FantasyFan400

    Crouch and hold fire

  • @cubex55

I tried that and It didn't work =.=

    Maybe my joystick is broke....

  • I tried to get that damn disk to work , tried everything ... :( once it loaded ..but only this title screen ,no game. Oh well ..at least i get to see the whole game now. Thanks for the childhood memories! :D ..heard it was a pretty decent game.

  • Realised i commented on this vid 2 years ago; as a kid i never completed this game but i got up to the temple zone just for my house to have a power cut so i never finished the darn thing lol :( I have to agree with the people here saying the undersea zone has cool music, but my favourite of all is the inner temple zone's music too :)

  • classic childhood memories, thanx cubex

  • Very strange...as first sight this game seems like many others.....but this is one of most beautiful platform of the story....

  • This was one of the best games on the Amiga and one of my favourites. Absolutely amazing and classic. Brilliant stuff. Thanks!

  • Thanks for sharing - was a superbly made game - is great to hear that music again especially

I finally know how to get past that rotating cup at 1 hour 08! I used to lose all my lives trying to figure out how to get past it. Did that 3 times then gave up - you made it look embarrasingly easy!

  • I need informations to download this game

  • @beergash

    Read our channel FAQ :)

  • world 3 underwater: 37:00 - 1:01:00always liked the tune on this part of the game.

  • Thanks for the memories. I actually prefer the PC chiptune versions of the music.

  • @Prizm4 Are you crazy?

  • the good old games are ever the best ;)

  • Still have this game and it works and I still play it to this day on my Amiga, IT SHALL NEVER DIE! =P I completed it as a kid, dunno how because it was HARD. But great fun too. I also remember the menacing "DUN DUN DUN DUN!" as I called them when I was younger, they appeared when so many days end. Thank you so much for posting this, memories come flooding back from childhood, I think I have a tear in ma eye... *-Goes up in loft / attic to play it right now-*

  • spend hours with this game, I liked the music, good memories!

had on the pc version, but the amiga I see it is much better

  • loved this game very much - brings back memories. thank yuo for posting it. spent many an hour playing this. never did complete it though, i dont think. great to see it once more!

  • Nice !

But how finish this game at 100% ?

I always have 96% at the end of the game...

  • damn, i like this game. very good grafics although it is old. huh, brings nice memories. music is great but i liked lotus 2 and hurrican 2 s music a bit more.

  • I actually finished this game quite a few times. It was SOOOO much fun!

  • Fantastic game this has been my childhood... I love it...

  • Quality.

  • yeah, like turrican - i loved the underwater levels in these ealier days. can´t believe in myself: i played fire and ice or syndicate or cannon fodder or pinball fantasies and so on instead of going out with my friends :-)

  • Magnificent game. Come back Andrew Braybrook!!!

  • Still think music on this is fucking amazing for 4 channels and trackers, from someone who is into trance and techno years on this really is inspiring

  • @louk909 (Thanks! Glad you liked it! JP)

  • I prefer the DOS version because it's what I grew up with, but the enhanced Amiga version is very beautiful.

  • 37:10

    I loved that music!

  • All the musics of this game are great. ^-^ OMG! How many years have been gone since I played Fire & Ice?!

  • Ah, me too. Remember I really liked that track when I played this at 10 years old. :)

  • this game is a gem in oldschool playing =)

  • But I think that if you bother to record longplays you would play without cheats...

  • Not sure have I commented yet but here goes.. I just love Fire & Ice. It's my favourite game in the world I played it for the first time when I was 5 years old and now after over 10 years it's still not boring and I still have it on my amazing Amiga 600.

    I love this...

  • I remeber this cool game i was a little kid and I very scared temple;)

  • makes me remind, when i was a lil kid playin this on my amiga 500 =) the music of the world underwater - brilliant

  • same dood

  • Exactly! I had about 10 years brake because our Amiga broke down and when I got a new one about a year ago, I of course first played Fire & Ice. I almost cried when I entered the underwater world =) And second time In the very end of the game when all puppies came to Cool Coyote..

  • I loved this game! The main character is really cute and cool, it really appealed to me when I was a kid and still does today. Also I love the music.

  • this is great. i love this game. the little "dog" is so nice. and the music - nice nice nice. thx for show...

    *thumps up*

  • The only downside was having to escort the puppies to the exit, why couldn't you just pick them up?

  • Because it is more interesting and they are useful against some boss.

I love this game, very playable, colorful, a classic on the Amiga (there is an even better AGA version). Thanks Andrew Braybrook !

How go to the secret room in the last level of Scotland (world 2) ?

  • In Rampart Romp, at he top left side of the map, is a ice cube for weapons. Go on it and jump high !

  • when you get puppies to go trought doors you get one life and lots of scores.

  • Classic platformer spoilt slightly by the empty looking backdrops. Doodlebug, mr nutz, elfmania etc showed you COULD have colourful games on the A500 and proper parallax backgrounds...

  • That's music! Yee-ha!

  • This game was made with TRUE care, Look all the colours!

  • Memories, god when i was little i only had a demo of this game, but i remember it as it was yesterday(9 years ago)

  • One of my favourite ever Amiga games - brings back some epic memories. Absolutely love the music, particularly on the undersea levels.

  • had a ton of colors at once.

  • What a cool game. Games today don't have an ounce of coolness against these classics.

  • I love this game. It brings up my child hood memories :D We have still one amiga downstairs but it allways burns the fuse. I also love Zoom, Dune, Alien Breed, Golden Axe, Cannon Fodder, Duke Nukem, Ugh, F19, and there are lots of more

  • great game!!!!

  • Thanks for not cutting off the priceless Intro!

  • Wow... I vividly remember this game... My mom got it for me when I was very little.

    Ah, the memories...

  • same here (but my dad gave me that...)

  • OMG! this is some game my brother played when I was very little and I always watch him playing this.

It's a feeling as if you see lost old photos again. Dude, this video know reminds me of a lot of memories...

  • this is one of my favourite amiga games, i just managed to get the cd32 version running on winuae, i think the standard 500 version is best though.

by the way how did you get this video to run so long, 1 hour 38 minutes?

i thought there was a 10 minute limit for videos on youtube.

  • I found a way to make my amiga 500 work again:)It was easy, I found out my fiencee had an amiga 500, we agreed to use some parts from his computer to fix mine, so my amiga is up again:)

  • One of the best pieces of menu music in Amiga gaming.

  • We still have a working Amiga 500. This game barely works in it because there is a bug in the game, so it stops at the end of the water level. So it's sometimes pretty annoying but this is still a marvellous game and I can't stop playing it.

  • thnx for uploadin this classic amiga game!

    my child hood memories haha!

if i remember rightly if u didnt complete levels fast enough some random ball of energy came after you and tried to kill u didnt it?? lol

  • You can actually see it in this video in Level 2 :)

  • Where can I download this game as I originally had it on the Amiga but it suddenly stopped working?

  • Try planetemu :)

  • I managed to find the website OK but what programme should I use to open a (dot)adf file?

  • WinUAE - Amiga emulator

  • I still need to find a KS ROM v1.3 (A500, A1000, A2000) rev 34.5 (256k) or KS ROM v1.3 (A3000)(K) rev 34.5 (256k)

  • Google for it - i cant give you a link as it would be illegal.

  • I havnt played this games for years now, ask me if you want some trick and tips to boost the top score to 99999999 pts.

  • This was hard when I played so long ago

I managed to complete it only once!

  • Awesome! I still play this on my PSP Amiga emulator!

  • One of my favorites. Great graphics, and great sound by Jason Page as always.

  • can you rip the underwater music ?

  • You can download the music as MP3 at amigamusic com :)

  • THX DUDE !

  • yeah thx
