1.1 IS AMAZING, play Super-flat world type and make sure you spawn next to a village that has a black smith building with a chest that has a bucket (Or iron to make one) and at least one tree sapling, you can use the bucket to make a cobblestone generator with the wheat farm water and lava from the black smiths' building. And the tree saplings will obviously make it so you can get all the wood you want. Have fun!
