Really, do me a favor then..bring this 90 yo man into the conversation. I'd like to hear what HE has to say. I find it hard to believe that his wife would ask such a question because if brain transplants were possible, it would have been front page news.
changing our mind is not as easy as he paints it. A true awakening cannot be achieved by mere psychology since such awakening transcends all categories of thought. I believe that this awakening is still outside Dr. Siegel's experience.
@GnosisMan50 he is saying that if you are aware of what the mind is doing, you can shift the connections in your brain. If you care to define 'true' awakening, we can have this discussion more thoroughly. He sounds congruent to my understanding and experience of awakening. I would also love to hear the patient to whom he refers, but we couldn't possibly understand the depth of HIS inner experience... most people can't communicate it.
