@blackheartpearl For these types of dogs, it's mandatory to do this to them at a young age. If they don't know how to get off their back when they're older, then can just die if no ones there to help them. You have to train them to roll over and get up.

He wasn't in pain or suffering, or even really stuck, he was probably super proud of himself when he got back up and next time it will be easier for him. Of course no one would let him lay on his back all day, but he got himself up didn't he? Sure it didn't take more then a minute either. The mother helps them up when they are babies, but when they're old enough they HAVE to do it themselves, or they will still be having trouble getting up as adults. That leads to joint problems. I suppose you also think it's "cruel" that mother cheetahs let their cubs play hunt too don't you? it's cute!
