@HarrieKerr I have aim, its ichristian2015. And yea he's dead, no doubt about. I think Tupac is alive but I know Elvis is gone. He didn't just die out of no where like MJ and Tupac. In some of his final concerts you can see his pain, he just got worn out.
@HarrieKerr Yea, Memphis, Alabama, Mississippi, all around there was confederate, not anymore though. I don't think he was racist.. idk what you mean by rebel..lol
@nita512001 The ones shouting that ELVIS is a racist the loudest are Michael Jackson fans. Before Jacko can take the crown of music ELVIS has to be branded a racist, so that's what their agenda is. I've got news for them. It isn't going to work.
This 1969 Back in Memphis album was great and was Elvis's last inspired recording sessions. Recorded at a small studio in a seedy part of Memphis, Elvis got back on track- at least temporarily. After this great album the Colonel intervened because he thought the songwriters were getting too much royalties. So it was back to the lame RCA Nashville studio and rather uninspired songs from then on.
wow..thanks for this one (not one of big ones hit wise) VERY bluesy...many elvis fans are just now re discovering these non chart toppers or B sides which are still great tunes. thanks again
Let's just say Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Bill Haley or Little Richard tried to open a door. Then here came Elvis and smashed the door down. Then everybody came running over him like the Beatles or whatever comes next. Elvis didn't necessarily start Rock N Roll, but he MADE IT HAPPEN.
Elvis The King of Music. The only singer able to sing in different styles of music. If it was not for Elvis, singers and bands like Michael Jackson, Beatles and others would have never existed. Jacksons and the Beatles did not had a good voice, but because of Elvis era when the world was looking for more Elvis type singers, they became famous. long Live The King! ELVIS PRESLEY. Love from Iran.
The world should remember that E is the only man in history inducted into 5 Genre Halls of Fame.Rock, Country, Blues, Gospel & Rockabilly. titles him a "master artist" in 5 genres. "Ya baby!" His voice b/c of it's versatility & skill has been studied at places like Harvard. One scholar said his voice "is perhaps the most contested acoustical phenomenon in modern culture." another.. "Elvis was all at once a tenor, a baritone and a bass. The most unusual voice I’ve ever heard."
What genre is this?? I think E has created a whole new genre yet again. ha! I say yet again b/c I can prove E created the true "Rock" sound/genre. Listen to Bill Haley & Big Joe Turner sing Shake Rattle & Roll. Neither wrote the song..both are infusing their own style into it. Think of the song as a canvas. Neither of their styles was going to set the world on fire & start a revolution. Bill's is a POP feel. Big Joe's more BLUESY. Now E's...E's mania & unique genre fusion made the "rock" sound.

Ive Always Loved This Song and Nobody Can Sing It Like Elvis ! God Broke The Mold When He Made Elvis ! Elvis Is The Greatest Entertainer That Has Ever Walked The Face Of This Earth ! Thanks For Posting This Fantastic Video My Friend !
Elvis at his absolute best in The Memphis recordings. He gave his all with his music and his voice was whatever he wanted it to be...pure, raw and beautiful talent.
when these squeaky kids come onto X factor thinking they are the best thing we have ever heard they want to sit down and listen to this kind of performance first
I love it when he sang the blues...my huz actually prefers his older music & doesn't care for the newer Elvis songs in the late 60's & 70's...this was recorded in 1969, but it mimics the way he played & sang when he started out. LOVE the pic him at 1:32...Yes sireee! LOL! Thanks for the share Alan! Warmly, Red
What are you talking about? Instead of leaving a "vague" response, why don't you qualify what you mean? Wrong about what? My husband's "opinion," regarding what songs he preferred from Elvis during specific time periods? The pic I love of him at 1:32? What? What I wrote has NOTHING to do with "right" or "wrong." If you're looking for a debate, or an outright argument, I'm up for it, but have some ammunition, pretty please, 'cause then I say bring it on! Red
Elvis was a very talented man. I love this one and High Heel Sneakers, Down in the Alley. Elvis was multi talented. Yes when it came to Elvis' music he was a serious worker and poured his heart and soul into every song he did. Elvis is a wonderful man. I love Elvis.
This is the King in his prime. People rarely credit Elvis for the vast amount of material he created, more than just about anyone else from his era. The man was a workhorse with a solid work ethic. Memphis Sessions is the perfect balance of the vitality from his youth and the maturity as a man and his growth as a singer. Most Elvis fans have never even heard this great track, just another gem lost amongs all the gold.
Excellent video. Really enjoy it, I can't find fault in the song either. The beat is so uplifting.Love the song so much. Purelistener, you always have new photo for us.Thank you for the posting.10*
