Just heard Band of the Irish Guards play Wi' a Hundred Pipers last night in Illinois-1st time I'd heard it, immediately hooked. Searched for that tune here, found these guys. They're more fun than the Bay City Rollers!
@randance1 I agree, I am hooked too! Wish these guys would come to America-esp. Colorado ta play at our Scottish Festival/Games up in Estes Park. The RHCP are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the freggin Rollers. has anyone heard Les's gigs recently-very sad/bad and I'm glad I don't have to listen ta him. He's on YT if ya wanna big laugh!
The blazin fiddles are excellent but the red hot chilli pipers are so tacky. they are all top class players but the tunes the pick are awful, think again boys.
Scottish mercenarys fighted togheter with swedes in The Thirty years war.Our king Gustavus Adolphus(The Father of modern warfare) loved the sound of bagpipes on the battlefields, actually he used the bagpipes to sound the attack in some battles, like the battle at lutzen and Breitenfelt.
You detractors need to get a life, these guys are obviously proud of what they have done and want to tell the world about it. They have brought a modern feel to a traditional instrument and what they have acheived is entertaining which is the whole point of the exercise. Don't knock the guys for their enthusiasim, or is it just a case of "sour grapes" because the pipers thought of melding rock with pipes first?
why dont all you people trying to annoy these to bands just shut the hell up ...unless youv not noticde but thr the ones better off there touring the bloody world
First tune by the Red Hots is called Lexy McCaskill. It was written by John McCaskill and is in the Scots Guards 2 book. I can get a page number if you wish.2nd one Thomsons Dirk. Anyone with even a basic understanding of folk music would know this. Latewave, you have to get out more
Oy Fiddleblaze or should I say Simon T? I have to get out more? Take me out then and show me a good time with yer tune book! What page number is it? I'm excited to know! Or maybe I can ask one of the peatbogs instead since they covered Lexy McCaskill on their first album yeaaars ago.
What Cassells, you think your own bands CD is great? Is there no begining to your modesty? It probably is great for the likes of using as a beer coaster or to throw at boring people who go on and on about how great they are.
i consider myself very lucky to have been able to watch the blazin' fiddles do their gig in germany for about 9 years ago and up to now i can't forget their gig and made me inspired that I began learning how to fiddle. and the Red hot chilli pipers? They really rock!
Thanks Sam, Much appreciated. To be honest I'd never really "heard of you" as I hate these reality shows... I knew who you were once things got started up though. Excellent playing and performance to go with it. Keep up the good work!
Anyone else expected to hear Red hot chili peppers? :D... but anyway cool pipers...

that isnt stuart cassels btw stuart cassells isnt 17
piper1592 4 years ago
I'm afraid it is stuart cassells, this is a confirmed fact. The 17 years refers to his mental age.
latewave 4 years ago
so why does he refer to the band as the chilli pipers in stead of " our bands"
piper1592 4 years ago
because my dear, he's a fanny.

Last comment was directed at the 'Red hot chilli pipers.' Blazin' Fiddles on the other hand are in a league all of their own :)

Eigg man is a tune by the Peatbog Faeries - an inifintely more unique and talented band. Check them out instead of these charltans....
