This was really one of my favorites. It's one of the more darker and serious episodes. As evil as David Wayne plays the Mad Hatter, it's funny to think that he and Adam West got along very well. As Adam said: "He was very warm towards all of us, and I never quite adjusted to having him try to kill me one minute, and then ask how the kids were the next."
@eternalhalloween1 True. The episode isn't as campy as others are (and Wayne's portrayal is much more subtle than the usual over the top camp portrayals).
@GoblinGirl Thanks, This was always one of my favorite episodes. It's too bad they never made a movie with the Mad Hatter. I would have liked to have seen him start out (as in the animated episodes) a tragic kind man rejected by the woman he loved and abused at work by a nasty boss. Then have him grow psychotic, but still sympathetic. And then have a 2nd half of the film like his character in this episode. (With a girl friend as he became more dark and evil.) Interesting irony.
