uhh ...Just wondering about a couple comments ...If Steve Via contributed to writing the tune, why would Jason Becker be layin' a guitar track down for it? ...If that's the case, I honestly don't get why the track even exists .....Surely Becker had better things pending than to track over another top guitarist's tune for the helluvit ....Why "demo" a tune at that time that wasn't his and/or he wasn't gonna play on? ....I always assumed it was Roth's tune that he aquired Vai and Sheehan to play

@1125Sonic well becker had to audition and prove that he can play Vai`s stuff. plus this was a warm up he told the engineer to just record and this is what came out of it. there is always a purpose to everything and this was just a audition to be in the band and to add new things in that Vai or Eddie never thought of

Whoa! I remember hearing this a few years back. I can honestly say, still today, no one can ever reach Jason's level of confidence on the guitar. He was playing things back then that ......well, no one will ever reach. I believe that this is a level of music that only god controls.

Often Becker gets a bit too "noodley" for my taste. Just too many notes. Here's he's adding feel and shredding fitting within the structure of a song. He's an inspiration, for sure. But I prefer the players that add feel. Take a few bars from Gilbert or Becker, with the feel of an SRV or Schon, then you'll have something.
