Did Bush use a national crisis to come to power? No. 9/11 happened AFTER he was elected president. Has Bush taken away liberties? No, we don't have people going to concentration camps, we don't have a ban on all guns (as a Democratic president would likely attempt to accomplish), and we don't have state run media or mandatory state run brain-washing organizations such as Hitler you. So, to be perfectly honest, does Hitler sound familiar when thinking of Bush? No.
Hitler came to power during the economic crisis of his time due to the impact of the treaty of Versailles which occured BEFORE Hitler was elected, before that, his Nazi party was a joke at best. The Patriot Act takes away very very few liberties and it's debatable at best if it takes away any at all, especially rights of US citizens. Cable News is obviously propoganda, but for Bush?? Are you kidding me? I can't even count how many anti-Bush stories there are.
As to club Gitmo, under the Geneva convention, for any tenants to need to be observed, the enemies must be in uniform and those captrued and taken to gitmo are all civilian dressed terrorists. And since when did any American lose his right to Habeas Corpus? Terrorists don't deserve that right.
