another point I'd like to make to all you out there, if ever you watch the weather for Michigan, look at the Saginaw bay from the satillite view, and notice the color of the Bay. Google earth uses a blue filter as well as some weather stations, but tv5, WNEM and others show you what it really looks like without a filter. To some it up, Saginaw Bay MI has turned into a swerling cesspool of dead, dying and rotting alge which removes oxygen from H2O as it decays and kills everything.

no, the only report is the one on the Detroit river and the Chicago coast of lake Michigan, both of the same kind of fish, but nothing reported for around here(Saginaw Bay area). Also there was a report on WNEM tv5(local) that there was over 2 hundred red wing black birds found dead in Ann Arbor Michigan last week, but I havent been able to find anything about it on their web site or anywhere on the web. Also this is the worst year ever for Walleye fishing on the river ice for me.

I live in Bay City Michigan, north of the Detroit river, where the Saginaw river runs right through Bay City. I can say without a dought that never have I seen dead gizzard shad floating down the Saginaw river under the ice while ice fishing before this year. There a literaly thousands of dead gizzard shad being pushed along with the current. The MI DNR web site says its due to the cold and they cant survive lower than 47 degrees F But these rivers freeze over every year and I have never seen it
