I hate gamestop because they refused to take my ipod classic. They seen the serial number in the software of my ipod classic, but since it was faded off of the main device on the back of it, they refused to take it.
I remember when i had Dragonball Raging Blast preordered and when i went to pick up my preordered copy at Gamestop one of the Gamestop clerks asked for my photo ID which i didn't have no photo ID with me at the time so i had to show the clerk my credit card with my name on it so i can finally get my game but another thing i hate was when i didn't get my preordered bonus that i was suppose to get.
i preordered a game from those crooks and they cancelled my order(it was months before i even knew , they didnt even tell me about it), and when i tried contacting them about they said it was my credit card company's fault. I called my visa company and they said everything was fine. Then gamestop lied about giving me a refund and wipe my purchase history clean so i couldnt have any evidence. they still send my mail.
I hate gamestop. i hope they get sued by fucking with the wrong person.

Bestbuy has a gamer reward system almost identical to Gamestop's powerup rewards and now bestbuy takes used games, mess is crazy you should check that out javan. Costs the same amount as gamestops card and you get a subscription to their Gamer magazine.
Just telling you about another option because after all that mess i would understand if you were ready to be done with everything Gamestop has to offer, BUT then it could be a bad employee.

I hate when they try to sell you a used game new. You go up to the counter with the case and say "I want this game". They'll be like "Oh cool, last copy". They'll go in the Used Game section of the counter and pull out game and say "This is our last copy, but it's new".
It is used! Somebody need to put them out of business. That's why I always go to a Mom & Pop store to get games early and say fuck Gamestop and their Pre-Order Bonuses.
A friend of mine had something like this happen to him, he fully paid for the Gears of War 3 Epic Edition and it turned out they put it under someone elses name. He figured it out the night of the midnight release, and the changed it over.
The reason they do it is that they try to meet a quota for a specific amount of games and edge cards/magazine subscriptions they try to get you to buy. The more you pre order the more they get more hours.
But yeah it gets really annoying. Another reason why I find GameStop cancerous is that because of them developers are putting that stupid online pass for their games which means you can't let your friend borrow a game and have them fully enjoy it which I find pretty stupid. FUCKING GAMESTOP!!!
I've pre ordered and bought like 4 games since I've had the damn card and I only save $5 will all of the points but the subscription card itself cost me $20 with tax.

I got Shadows of the Damned for free, with the Power Up Pro card, you get new deals monthly, and you can use your points to get stuff like 25$ off your next game, and if you save your points you can get shirts, controllers ect. I've used my card a lot, and it's saved me well over 50$

Gamestop is an awful company to work for, I don't push anyone for reserves or subs and haven't for the past 5 years. Just this week my job was threatened by my district manager. The companies problem is hiring dishonest workers and moving the focus from real customers like you Javan who buy multiple games per year, to the people who buy just Fifa/Madden/Call of Duty once a year. i know the put another name in my magazines, i got the ones from like January to May, thenj i didnt receive the ones from the next twop months the i receive the ones from August to September didnt receive the ones from like the next two months, but at the end i got the 12 magazines, they sent them to me with like 4 different names.

I ask the employee if they have the game. He said yes. Then I ask where is the disk and manual for the game. He said someone ran off with it. I asked could I get a discount on this "new" game. He said no, he was selling a damn game without the box or manual as the brand new retail price. Isn't that some bullshit!

Amazon.com is the best site in my opinion to buy games..i pre order mw3 and the total for shipping and taxes were 60.98 !thats a good deal right there,plus the game arrives at your house on release date and you dont have to pay extra.

That shit pisses me the hell off, every time i want to go to gamestop and pick up/reserve or just buy a game I try to make it as quick as possible. But once i am checking out, they spend like a good 5-10 minutes telling me about future games coming out and that i should reserve. To make things worse, they'll ask 2 more times if i am sure or not if i want to reserve a game. I'm just going to start reserving games at best buy. No issues at that store.

I worked at Gamestop for 6 months. The District Manager forces us to do that. I don't like it at all. The higher the pre orders, game guarantees & Product Replacement plans the better. Because if we don't have a certain amount by the end of the month then they'll consider firing us. Gamestop is not really about GAMES. You guys have to realize that.

i think it's kinda dumb to preorder. there are so so many stores out there you can buy a game from, it would be very very very unlikely that you wouldn't be able to get a game you want the day it comes out.. unless it's extremely niche. plus i refuse to give a company a free $5 loan for nothing in return but some dumb gold gun or something that doesn't really have any sort of monetary value

At the gamestop here, they make you go in at like 10:30 to pay the full amount for the game that you have preordered, then leave, then come back for the midnight release.
I never trade in games, because I make sure I'm gonna like a game before I play it via demos or renting(I get free rentals). But the only thing I don't like is how much money they give for trading ANYTHING in. And I'm sure everyone agrees with this. I traded in a PS3 with the 4 usb ports and backwards capability, and I barely got $200 out of it with a headset and 2 sixaxis controllers. Little did they know that the PS3 has ylod'd before and has been fixed, otherwise I wouldn't have traded it.

When Dead rising 2 came out I got it on launch played it the first two days and i absolutely hated it, went back to gamestop to sell it, and the fucking turd working there told me that he can give it to me for 25$ three days after the game came out.
I'm a major PC gamer, and it is almost impossible to buy pc games there.

I was in GAMESTOP...... and I traded in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the Xbox 360. They said the disk was a bit scratched and so would need to be cleaned, they said to have it cleaned is £2 and the game was worth £1 to them, so they said I would be charged £1 to give them MY game............. and this is 100% genuine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The companies problem is hiring dishonest workers and moving the focus from real customers like you Javan who buy multiple games per year, to the people who buy just Fifa/Madden/Call of Duty once a year. Ok get this, I went to go buy a final fantasy game. They only had a display copy on the new section. It wasn't even the real disk holder, it was a generic one. I ask the employee if they have the game. He said yes. Then I ask where is the disk and manual for the game. He said someone ran off with it. I asked could I get a discount on this "new" game. That shit pisses me the hell off, every time i want to go to gamestop and pick up/reserve or just buy a game I try to make it as quick as possible. But once i am checking out, they spend like a good 5-10 minutes telling me about future games coming out and that i should reserve. To make things worse, they'll ask 2 more times if i am sure or not if i want to reserve a game. I'm just going to start reserving games at best buy. No issues at that store.

I only bought 1 game from GS in the last year and half.I usually go to Best Buy,Wal Mart (my gf works there so I get a discount) or I order from Amazon.I used to sell my games after I stopped playing them for a few months but now I kept every game I buy.My local GS isn't that bad,they do always ask you to reserve.games or buy a magazine subscription,other than that they are pretty cool for the most part,I stopped going there because I usually get a better deal elsewhere.

I worked at Gamestop for 6 months. The District Manager forces us to do that. I don't like it at all. The higher the pre orders, game guarantees & Product Replacement plans the better. Because if we don't have a certain amount by the end of the month then they'll consider firing us. Gamestop is not really about GAMES. You guys have to realize that.

I never trade in games, because I make sure I'm gonna like a game before I play it via demos or renting(I get free rentals). But the only thing I don't like is how much money they give for trading ANYTHING in. And I'm sure everyone agrees with this. I traded in a PS3 with the 4 usb ports and backwards capability, and I barely got $200 out of it with a headset and 2 sixaxis controllers. Little did they know that the PS3 has ylod'd before and has been fixed, otherwise I wouldn't have traded it.

When Dead rising 2 came out I got it on launch played it the first two days and i absolutely hated it, went back to gamestop to sell it, and the fucking turd working there told me that he can give it to me for 25$ three days after the game came out.

I'm a major PC gamer, and it is almost impossible to buy pc games there.
I have an easier time getting PC games at target right next door then at shitty Gamestop. But that's why we pc gamers have Steam now. Much better then Gamestop will EVER be.

I Buy NCAA 12, then when Madden 12 Release and you take that in and trade it...YOU DON'T GET SHIT! But yet they put your game back on the shelf and sale it for only $10 less then a NEW COPY COST...SMH...
