  • I just stumbled across your video. And it is most definitely a story that needs to be told, and a solution sought for these people as well as the many many others of us that are dying from a lack of knowledge. But your report would have been a whole lot more legit if it was missing Brother Kazim, Sister Serene, and their daughter. I made the mistake of helping out this Brother and his Family back in 2009 when they were homeless, and all I will say is that I regret that I did, and never again.

  • @oldcat1959 ..you should say why they were homeless and why you regret helping them out..no matter the conditions they live in, i could clearly see that in parts like the toilet a good cleaning would be a good thing...holding out for miracles is not going change anything..sorry but they got try get motivated to get the hell out of that place.coz that sure aint no place to be living.situation.

  • Some churches don't help the community like they should. I'm a Christian woman mind you, but sometimes you need more than prayer. You need some people that will actually take action and help. It sounds like to me that the pastor isn't trying to help at all. Its too many churches out here that just use prayer as a means to help people who live like this. I'm not saying that praying is useless because sometimes all you have is your faith. At the same time it means alot when you take action.

  • @PassionateGoth The lady was saying her church doesn't have the money, either. Many churches are like that. If all the members are poor, and don't have money to tithe, the church won't have any money to help the members. I know you're talking about the ones that do-they should be doing something. At my mom's church, they do lots for the members & the community-esp. at the beginning of the school year & occasions like Christmas where they give school supplies, clothing, food etc. to families.

  • People wake up ! I am right next door in Alabama. My family still live on the plantation my Great Great Great grandfather owned. He was white but I am black. This is serious although our plantation house is nice, it is still SICK to know that I am the product of evil, cruel intentions, and the descendants of mistreated slaves.

  • 1:00 There are things this family needs way more than copies of Final Call or "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews"

  • @jxhensley Yeah. Instead of the FOI guy standing there with his bowtie and white shirt he should have some work clothes on along with some of his soldiers fixing the house. The biggest problem seems to water leaks. From what I can see $2000 worth of surplus construction materials is all they need. The rest is just organizing volunteer labor.

  • i'd just about bet that she has a damn new car parked outside....ya'll just trying to get money to fill your pockets.....

  • @elvisisreallydead they really dnt man

  • @elvisisreallydead if that's a joke it's a terrible one.

  • Where is extreme make over now when people really need them.Mrs. Flora you are a strong women and you have made it this long and you going to continue to make it. You can't give up now!

  • WELL IM FROM RYT HERE WHERE THEIR FROM<< AND LORD FORGIVE ME,, THAT THIS WOMAN HAS TO LIVE LIKE THIS<< YEA ITS A SHAME<< AND IM NOT SPEAKIN ON HER BT ALL THOSE GRANDKIDS SHE NAMED<< THEIR MOTHERs IS LIVIN THERE TOO,, AND THEY ALL DRIVE NEW MODEL CARS AND TRUCKS.. THATS THE SHAME<< BuT IT IS A SUCH THNG CALLD INCOME BASED APTMNTS<< LIKE I SAID<< LORD FORGIVE ME DAT SHE HAS TO LIVE LIKE THIS,, BT SHE SHOULDA BEN PUT SOME OF THOSE GROWN FOLKS THAT WASNT HELPN HER OUT A LONG TYM AGO<<

  • I'm a Christian woman but I also believe that sometimes you need more than prayer. You need actuall doing, people that will do more than pray for you. You need a REAL helping hand.

  • What piss's me off more than anything is that these people still believe that jesus is looking out for them. That whole brain trashing has lead many to sit back and wait on the lord. I bet if we had never been indoctrinated with that bs, we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe over simplified but I'm sure it has had a major effect on us as a people. Saying shit like "the lord may not come when you need him but he's always on time" what kinda madness is that?

  • By the way we have been back several times.

  • Just for you point of information. We are helping this family. I will not discuss what we are doing and have done to assist this family. However, I would like for you to know that our organization is here to help in anyway that we can.

  • For you all to come into these people home and film probably for your benefit only and not take action to get them out poverty says what to the morals of your organization? These children have to go to school and deal with other kids who have viewed this and they make fun of these people. I'm hoping that your organization has already helped this family. When the dude says we will be back.... Did you really return?

  • The children of the slaves and sharecroppers are much like the Native Americans who survived genocide & residential schools. Something is taken from them - stripped - that others cannot fathom. Yes, some get out....most do not. Search Pine Ridge Reservation or Crow Creek and you will see similar circumstances. It's positively sickening. If you are watching this vid - you are not the "turn a blind eye" soul. Bless you for caring

  • Where did you get this information about the state hospital? I would like more information on the subject of people having to stay in the hospital for two weeks in order to get a SSI check.

  • @yourstory08 its unofficial.but known fact..shared info

  • In Mississippi there is of course still a lot of racism. The blacks unless they are nurses and teachers find it hard to get good employment. Especially now in a recession. Many blacks play crazy to get what we use to call a "Crazy check" but officially it is called SSI. Now they have made it so difficult. You have to stay two weeks in the state hospital to get approved. Yes. The white folks did that. Plus, they have made it so hard to get disability in Mississippi if you are black.

  • Im from the Mississippi Delta and I have never seen poverty like this. However, I have heard my mom speak of a place in Mississippi where there was extreme poverty. She stated it was people still using outhouses. My family were all educated and many moved away to very prosperous lives in the city. For the life of me I can't understand why those people don't leave. Why live there and live in squalor. Go to the larger citiies.

  • @Protool11 im sitting here thinking the same thing .BUT.IT TAKES A M.O.N.E.Y.i totally understand the situation.ill bet your thinking she worked for 26 yrs at the same job ,she should have savings.well those factories opened up in the 70'S for profit (self profit)they paid the workers low wages.no benefits or 401k.if she had e.pluribus unum don't you think she would've moved out that shack?thats the reality of her situation

  • @Protool11 I'm from Greenwood part of the delta, and people say that the delta is the poorest part of the state, we have no people living like this in Greenwood. I was really shocked to see this is a city like Hattiesburg.

  • @futureomega

in greenwood? you must be on dirt

  • @Protool11
