  • loved tom ! he was quirky likeable fun and real

  • In the 90s, I used to watch his CBS show after Letterman, and enjoyed the intimate setup he had with his guests. RIP Tom.

  • Snyder was the best talk show host of his generation IMHO - curious, funny and sincere!

  • Does anybody know what the name of the theme song is?

  • @bballmanager "Relight My Fire" by Dan Hartman

  • Tom's theme music was "Boogie Wonderland"?

  • Why havent I found this sooner....Thank you!!!

  • That last question was ominous -- because Letterman replaced Snyder in this timeslot (after Carson) a couple years later.

  • wow snow no school awesome ko be on time go amay you aren funny

  • oh 4got to say..tom is a legend

i live in ireland and didnt grow up with US tv..well until i was about 15 i got to see sum talkshows...dave..tom..leno ( until he he went drab)..and conan

  • and the funny thing is..dave hates moring tv shows....he hated cbs and abc..well still abc...but cbs was his arch nemmiesis

even tho he lost out to leno for the tonight show..he kinda won in a way by going to cbs..because he hated them so much that by going to them was

1: cbs having to pay him

2: sticking two fingers bak at NBC

guys check out daves press conference as he joined CBS...classic

  • @daedralord1 where can you see the press conference?

  • @GD29 i should have clearer on my comment sorry, i dont know if there is a video, but i read it and what dave said in the press conference

i have no idea where i read it

think the late shift film about dave and jay did a short scene with the press conference and was basically what he did ( big cigar, big smile, saying that cbs where paying him a hit load of money)

  • At that time, how long has Letterman had his show for?

  • If you are referring to the show for which he became famous, NBC's "Late Night," then he had not had it at all: it began in 1982.

  • ooh I see now, he was doing a morning show before hand. I never knew that before :)

  • Now that I think of it, actually, "Late Night" is the show that replaced the one on which Letterman was appearing in this clip.

  • So there was no Tomorrow Show with Snyder after Late Night with Letterman came?

  • No, in fact Snyder went on to host the show that followed Letterman's next program, the "Late Show," on CBS. That show is now hosted by Craig Ferguson.

  • ooh The Late Late Show! well that's what I know it as

  • @AccordionManiac Snyder was offered a 1 hour Tomorrow Show at 1:30 AM following Letterman on NBC, but he said "no". NBC ran some edited Tomorrow Show reruns for a while after Dave's show premiered, then had a news show (NBC News Overnight) with Linda Ellerbee for a few years at 1:30 AM.
