i do this all the time. I still get the apple logo and and the icon is still white. I am on iOS 5.0.1, and i know you have to jailbreak it with the 5.0 software. I just don't know how to fix it. The 5.0.1 is an unrecognized build and it wont get a regular cydia app. Please help?.

@iDizzyFX I was having exactly the same problem, what I did was select the 5.0 IPSW you jailbroken with, then when you go into DFU mode, keep on holding the home button after until the pineapple logo appears on your iDevice. Hope this helps

@M3nzi I did that. Then I did some updates in cydia and tried to download barrel, the tweak, and everytime i try to download a tweak, it crashes my device and i restore it, and retry the jailbreak. I think it'd be best if i just wait till an untethered jailbreak comes out, but thanks!

Man I thought this was a video to fix blank jailbreak icons that are so damn persistant in iOS 5 especially iOS 5.0.1. Still a good vid for noobs tho I guess, Any way for anyone looking for an answer to the blank JB icons after iOS 5JB, just install "Respring" from cydia and use that. It caches icon images, sometimes ya have to respring with that a cpl times, but they come back. at least til next respring.

i followed this exactly, i got the pineapple logo as it should, redsnow all worked fine, rebooted tethered, came up with the done! screen, but cydia still white =[ help pleeease, thankyou. dan

@dansk8erboi Just let it be. It will come up eventually. Or install cydia 1.1.2. search google for "cydia_1.1.2_iphoneos-arm.deb" SSh via iFun box, place the deb in "Raw File System". Then open iFile go to whwere you put it and tap "installer". Bam.......A faster (Most of the time) just as stable Cydia.Usually downloading something that requires a respring will fix it but I guess you would have tried that already.

@TheVangsgaard search google for "iphone boot logo" find the rite file (which is a pain in the ass) then redsn0w then "extras" then "preferences" then boot logo, then navigate to wherever u saved the image. Good luck finding one thats compatible. I finally found one. A lil GreenPois0n skull. I like it better than the low quality PWNApple tho.lol

Doesn't work for me. I am using 3gs and O have jailbroken it with the newest redsn0w. I got the blank icon cydia and booting it with redsn0w doesn't help. If you know how to fix this, please reply.

@pokemyhantis Because the Jailbreak for iOS5 is only teathered at the minute so that means whenever you reboot your device the jailbreak has to be reactivated so you have to do that process again.
