Well, I was raised SDA and changed to Catholic. That process involved an examination of various religions. Well, I was raised SDA and changed to Catholic. That process involved an examination of various religions. Two years ago began having a spiritual upheaval and I have been slowly reexamining my beliefs. So, you see, having a child switching religions doesn't realy worry me much. Its apart of growing up.

again, in a way, you're right, the lady was influenced by her beliefs. most likely, the reason why she was so mad was because she held beliefs that a life of athiesm would put her boy in danger, and that he would be in danger of going to hell. However, she was wrong in how she treated him. she should have reacted with more charity. the religion can't be blamed for her ruthlessness because it doesn't teach that you should do that.

It is not only sick, but quite dangerous to the survival of the human race. Saddest thing about the USA is the fact that our forefathers did not want organized religion in this country. The majority of them claimed to belong to no church and did not support the churches. Somehow we seem to have just dismissed that. Sad.

America was based upon freedom of religion,not freedom from religion. I think we should accept people for who they are. People can't be forced to believe in God. It's not even really about religion anymore, but the idea of being unable to think for yourself; unable to make your own decisions. I am a Christian because I know that God's decisions are greater than my own. But at least I respect the choices of those who choose not to share my beliefs.

You are quite correct in that somebody acting contridictory to what their religion states, is not acting on behalf of that religion. However, the thousands killed in the Inquisitions were killed by people who were following their religion's instruction. In today's society there a numerous deaths daily due to suicide bombing that is encouraged by religious beliefs. In these cases the blame lies with the religion.

It does have some merits but the conflicts that blind fate and close mindedness cause often outweigh them. Fate should be your personal way of making sense of the world, not a way to control or seperate yourself from others.
