The nips are nothing but opportunist. You can't treat them as regular people. Once it is their turn to fall flat on their faces, we must that this opportunity to wipe them off the face of the earth. And I looks like that time will come soon.
I think the most important thing to take away from this is that China didn't have a Dark Age until the 20th century. There is a tradition of keeping a written history, of remembering.
When the Chinese are finally able to throw off the insanity of Mao, China will be again the most powerful civilization on Earth. But that, too, will eventually fall just as all empires fall.
@problazer10 They did kill and rape, but not to the extent of the massacres that Japan committed. Name me another empire that committed atrocities like Nanjing massacre, bataan death march ,all in the space of less than a decade?
@problazer10 It seems to me like you are the one who needs to work on your history. Does Bataan death march mean anything or rape of nanking? Empires invaded, but didn't rape and kill their civilians with such brutality
@Jedbrien They really did though. All great Empires throughout history have commited their share of massacres and attrocities. From the Romans to the British Empire, they all killed off any opposition to their rule. What the Japanese did was not exceptional...They just made the mistake of killing people who were willing to support them, in parts of the former British, Dutch and French empires. The Japanese were so brutal to the Chinese because of what i outlined in my comment below.
The Japanese of many past generations came to our nation, Malaysia, riding on bicycles and raped, killed, beheaded, and enslaved my forefathers. Chinese heads were hung up on city walls as a warning to the civilians. And your prime minister is compelled to pray for those soldiers every year, what does that tell us?
(Part2)The Chinese government has announced that all of these victims were massacred by the Japanese even though they killed many Chinese people. The Chinese government used a clever trick which was called Chinese propaganda during the war. They are an expert on lies, Ralph Townsend said.
(Part1)In Chinese history, Chinese soldiers destroyed the homes and fields of their own civilians in order to wipe out any possible supplies or shelter that could be utilized by the over-extended enemy troops. This strategy is called "The Clean Field Strategy" by China. In fact, Chinese soldiers killed 30,000 their own people in cold blood in Changsha in 1938 under this strategy in spite of the fact that the Japanese didn’t attack the city.
Ways That Are Dark ~The truth about China Ralph Townsend
If a jury of the most experienced Americans or Englishmen in China today were asked to name the most prominent characteristic in the Chinese mentality as opposed to our own, I think most if not all of them would unhesitatingly answer, “lying." In the West we scarcely know anything about lying. We are rank amateurs.
Look it doesn't matter that the Japanese killed scores of our people.China chose to fight for good while Japan fought for evil. That by itself makes me proud to be Chinese, because we stood up even when we were most weak. The fact that we fought for good is worth much more to me than winning the war.
But China did win, and I think China would probably have won without America, Russia, or any others. It just would have taken more deaths and more time.
Before the entry of the Japanese, Chinese soldiers in their mad rush to discard their military uniforms and put on civilian clothes. In a number of incidents, Chinese soldiers killed their people to obtain their clothing. During the last few days, some violations of people and property were undoubtedly committed by them. James Espy, the vice American Council at Nanking, reported to the American Embassy
@Jedbrien The Japanese wernt fighting for EVIL you idiot. They were fighting to expand their Empire in China and to gain resources to enable them to continue to expand their empire. No different from what the USA did in WW2. But propaganda works on fools like you. Read history and you'll understand its not about GOOD OR EVIL... ITS ABOUT WHO GETS WHAT.
@skywiz3 Im not saying that the Japanese army dident commit attrocities in China. They Did. Im just saying that the Japanese people as a whole wernt fighting for evil...it was their military leaders ordering mass rape and murder. You have to remember also, at this time Japan was a military dictatorship which brainwashed millions with propaganda and brutal laws at home. When you've been indoctrinated from birth to believe your superior its easier to hate and kill. It was the same in Germany.
Don't even listen to him. The six million Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos, and Indochinese killed by the Imperial Japanese are enough to convince me as well as the people of China that kaito8209 is bullshit.

Form the above authentic documents when the Nanking battle ceased, the population of Nanking proved to have been 250,000 and was gaining in population. The indictment, which said the city had lost population by 300,000, could therefore no ground.

→Chapter II→ 1. The number of casualties, 300,000 →Argument 1
(Part1)After the Safety Zone was dissolved at the beginning of February 1938, Lewis S. C. Smythe, professor of Nanking University investigated the population with the help of many Chinese staffs. He assumed the population of Nanking to be 250,000 or 270,000 as of the end of March 1938. The Nanking City Administrative Office of the Nanking Restoration Government,
【PartⅡ】however, that few responded to the crimes committed by Japanese Army and some refused to testify or to deny the massacre occurred when they were asked for details. Then, the KMT reluctantly submitted the tentative report to the IMTFE on January 20, 1946. Except for one 'testimony' made by a man named Lu Su, no other evidence of 'massacre by the Japanese Army' was available, besides burial records.
【PartⅠ】According to Summary report on the Investigation of Japanese war crimes committed in Nanking, prepared by the Procurator of the District Court in Nanking, to prepare for the IMTFE, the KMT set up the 'Nanking Investigation Committee for Antagonists' Crime' on November 7, 1945, and appealed to the Chinese public to report Japanese Army's crimes. It was reported,
(Part2)It has been pointed out that what she wrote and the photos in her book were not related to the so-called Nanking Massacre. She shot herself by pistol and died in 2004. The London Economist magazine commented that she had committed suicide perhaps because her book was much criticized and she was deeply depressed about it.
(Part1)Recently, a Chinese American named Iris Chang wrote a book entitled, The Rape of Nanking. It tells about the brutal massacre by the Japanese in Nanking. It became a bestseller in the USA and other countries, and spread the lie of the Nanking Massacre. Later, Chang’s book was much criticized by many other authors.
(Part2)The British newspaper North China Daily News, which was published in China in English on December 24, 1937, eleven days after the Japanese occupation of Nanking, carried a photo taken in Nanking by their photographer. The photo was entitled "Japanese distribute gifts in Nanking." In the photo are Japanese soldiers distributing gifts, and Chinese adults and children receiving the gifts and rejoicing. Is this the scene of a massacre?
(Par1)When the Japanese troops entered Nanking on December 13, 1937, more than 100 press reporters and photographers entered together with them. The press corps was not only from Japan, but also from European and American press organizations, including Reuters and AP. However, none of the press corps reported the occurrence of a massacre of 300,000 people. Paramount News (American newsreels) made films reporting the Japanese occupation in Nanking, but did not report the occurrence of a massacre.
stop posting your delusional BS.People like you are the reason why Japan has a bad image in Asia. You're one of those historic revisionist who should be shamed for trying to justify a horrific crime.Japan should follow Germany's example and take responsibility for its crime.
(Part3) Not only so, Japanese must say that there existed the crucial fact that the then Japanese government sternly refused the persecution policy against the Jewish people which the Nazi Germany was implementing, even though Japan had amicable relations with Germany by means of concluding the Anti-Comintern Pact during that time when the battle of Nanking occurred.
(Part2) The large-scale slaughters targeting all the Jewish people, including the killings of Jewish people who had German citizenship, committed by the Nazi Germany were systematically planned killings based on the specific ethnic ideology which had no direct connection with the war. Those killings were, indeed, the 'crimes against humanity', and those crimes are fundamentally different from the 'war crimes' which the Japanese troops were said to have committed.
(Part1)The 'Nanking Massacre' in which the Prosecution claims the 'massacre of 300,000', has never been so proved. However, any other unjustifiable killings by Japanese troops are regarded as punishable war crimes during the battles against the Chinese Army, and these should be processed under the international humanitarian law. On the other hand, in case of Germany, they were not fighting the war against the Jewish people.
If the 'Nanking Massacre, had actually existed, there might have been some motivation. Indeed it was an argument of motivation that the Prosecution never tried to dispute so far. The Japanese had no 'policy to exterminate the Chinese'. The Prosecution explained that the motive was to threaten Chinese people. But no evidences were shown to prove it.
no Japanese high officials had ever become aware of the 'Nanking Massacre'.In those days Japan had no motive for conducting the mass killing of the Chinese citizens. In Germany, the holocaust, which might be frequently compared with the so-called 'Nanking Massacre' recently, was driven from a 'dominant motive' under the 'policy for extermination of Jewish people'.
I never mention anything about Japan treating Asia like the Jews.I stated that Germany fully accepted her role in the holocaust and came to terms with the fact.Similarly,Japan has not come to term with herself and her crimes during WWII.In fact, many members of the government and society, such as yourself, are still suffering from some unknown delusional thoughts that Japan was merely taking a small stroll through Asia during WWII and not a single bacteria was hurt in the process.
Off course to ppl such as yourself,Japan was invited into Asia and she was a great protector to Asia. All those deaths were probably suicides or ppl trying to frame good-hearted Japan. And the rapes....I mean consensual sex during that time was because the Japanese were so handsome that women from six to 80 felt compelled to present themselves to these gift from god.Really, I must stress, it is ppl like you and that is why today,Japan is still hated by many Asians and will continue on.
【Part2】In this situation, if the Japanese Army had constituted an infringement of international humanitarian laws in the manner of repeatedly committing atrocities to citizens and POWs, westerners would have been critical and the U.S. and Europe would have started economic sanctions against Japan accordingly. The fatal damage to Japan would have been inevitable. Having been well aware of these circumstances, the Japanese government had to absolutely avoid unnecessary and unlawful acts.
《On the contrary, Japan had a motive to avoid illegal actions》
【Part1】In those days Japan, running short in natural resources, entirely relied on the U.S. and Europe for the import of munitions and fuel, actually 65% of the import was from the U.S. and Europe. The embargo from the U.S. was barely avoided at the close of the Manchurian Incident, but at the start of the China Incident, the U.S. government began to think of drastic economic sanctions against Japan.
【Part3】in order to avoid friction with key trade partners such as the U.S. and the U.K. As a result even pocketing of a pair of shoes could be a case which had to be tried by the court-martial.

【Part2】How drastically did these principles prevail?
WAKISAKA Jiro, the commander of the 36th Regiment, the 9th Division stated in his affidavit presented to the IMTFE that such was rigidity of orders that a certain paymaster lieutenant was given penalty at the military court only for carrying woman's shoe of this pair found on the street back to his unit.
The Japanese Army was greatly concerned about soldiers' illegal actions in Nanking
【Part1】On the contrary Civilians massacre or Rape,
MATSUI, at the time of the offensive entry into Nanking, strictly ordered all the troops that 'the whole world would pay attention to Japan's entry to the capital of a foreign country, which had never been experienced ever since,' so that looting or accidental fire would be severely punished.
This is my last reply to u.I'm sick of listening to your revisionist propaganda. The world knows the truth.Japan also knows the truth but alot of right winger idiots like yourself refused to believe it.You guys are the eastern equivalent to the West's Neo-Nazi and Holocaust deniers.I will leave you with this thought. In order for Japan to get along with Asia,Japan must accept her past and come to term with it and appropriate actions must be taken.1 day u'll find regret in what u wrote
(Part2)To my mind, this should not concern us Germans, particularly since one can clearly see that the Chinese, once left to depend solely on the Japanese, immediately fraternize. And as for all these excesses, one hears only one side of it, after all.” That report is called untrustworthy story after people defined the fact.
(Part1) P. Scharfienberg, the secretary general of the German Embassy to China, who returned to Nanking city on January 9, tried to investigate the fact about 'Japanese Army's atrocities Rabe reported' by himself, and wrote to the German Embassy at Hankow on February 10: “He [Rabe] is still actively trying to counter the bloody excesses of Japanese looters, which have unfortunately increased of late.

(Part2)On the contrary, some of the pictures, which were claimed to have been taken at the time of the massacre, have never indicated the date, the places, and the names of photographers. Also, some of them are showing the entirely different things, and others are forged ones. Even the Chinese cannot have proved the Nanking Massacre.
(Part1)Some of the photos and videos, which obviously show restoration of order in the Safety Zone immediately after the seizure of Nanking, and also the documentary films which show the Chinese citizens rushing to get ID cards. These photos and films are made by the trustworthy sources, and coincided with the witness of over 100 Japanese correspondents dispatched to Nanking then.
(Part1)On November 16, 1937, Chiang Kai-Shek decided to abandon Nanking and ordered that the Chinese Nationalist Party agency should complete preparation of withdrawal within three days. Therefore the government officials escaped from Nanking, following the wealthy who had been escaping since the beginning of August. There remained only Chinese SOLDIERS and those too POOR TO FLEE.
@ohmss069 do you know that goverment of China control their people and rare when Chinese can use internet. For what? Yes, they dont want that Chinese will know true if they try use internet. Propaganda of Chinese goverment it's anti-Japanese propaganda and also we know that flag of Tibet and Taiwan banned in China. And I sure, you all know why. I have chinese friend and he told me that many Chinese think that Japan want war now what impossible. Never trust goverment propaganda.
(Part1)Japan had no intention of starting the war against China, and immediately ordered the front army not to expand the battle beyond and cease fire swiftly and peacefully, as the Emperor Showa (Hirohito) so strongly wished. The cease-fire agreement was reached in four days. However, China broke the agreement. Japan reluctantly dispatched three more divisions on July 27 to North China. On the 29th, in the city of Tungchow (Thongzhou),
(Part2) some 250 Japanese residents were murdered by the Chinese troops, and this incident was being called the 'Tungchow Massacre'.9 In August 1937, the Japanese government formulated the peace proposal. Both the Japanese Army and Navy agreed to this peace proposal. What this proposal implied was that all the interests Japan had acquired since the Manchurian Incident should become nullified. This was indeed a drastic concession, which Japan had ever conceded.
(Part2)according to the burial record presented to the IMTFE by the Red Swastika Society. This is clearly the contradiction between the claims of the massacre of civilians and the fact that 94% of the remains buried were recovered outside the castle. Also, the remains of women and children take only 0.3%, it means that this cannot be the proof of the massacre of civilians.
Yahoo![ The Alleged 'Nanking Massacre' 再審「南京大虐殺」 ]
→Chapter III →2. Burial Records which denied the massacre
【Then how many murders did the committee members eyewitness?】
It was clearly proved by their testimonies at the IMTFE that no committee members had witnessed 'illegal murders by Japanese soldiers' at all. O. Wilson, who made many testimonies as to atrocities, did admit that all of his testimonies were HEARSAY. Magee, who lived with Bates and worked for the Safety Zone Committee, testified that he had just eye-witnessed only ONE case of Lawful execution.
(Part3)However, the peace negotiation between Japan and China crumbled immediately due to the incident in which two soldiers were slaughtered in Shanghai on the very day the peace negotiation started in shanghai between Japan and China. The KMT was building up their troops in great number in Shanghai. During that time, there were a large number of Japanese residents. To defend them, there was only one defending unit consisting of 4,000 combatants.
(Part1) almost all the civilians have been living inside the Safety Zone, and there are almost no one living outside the Safety Zone even in Nanking castle.
Needless to say, there have been absolutely no civilian living outside the walls where fierce battles happened. If any civilians were killed, the massacre should have been carried out only inside the castle and their corpses should have been left inside the castle.
(Part4)To the Japanese unit, Chiang Kai-seki sent a numerically far superior number of troops consisting of thirty divisions on August 13. Thus, the war expanded to Shanghai. Japan organized the Shanghai Expeditionary Forces, and deployed them to Shanghai. By that time, Japan had abandoned the existing non-expansion policy.

no more communist in china, they are now social capitalist. one party system which is democratic and has voting system, but they will change for sure soon and take over usa and have us work for them one day.
Maybe one day the "Communists" will be kicked out of China and we can be as allies again, I don't hate the Chinese people, I just really hate their government.
American government is corrupt too. So you shouldn't complain let alone worry about another country. China has nothing against the States, their just tired of USA compalining about China makign weapons to defend their own country.
Yeah, but the Communist party has a stranglehold over the government. And you're telling me the government is forced by law to have some non-communist members? Sounds like a political scheme so they can point and go "look, we have non-communists in our government.
Also PRC uses all the communist wording, the nation is very much set up as having a communist character. Europe is very socialist, they don't go around talking about unity and revolution.
what u mentioned is party's flag. it is not abandoned and still hung during its own meeting. But it has nothing to do with the flag of people repulic china.
And anyways, in my original statement I said that I hope one day the Communists will be kicked out of China, you're telling even though the nation is led by self proclaimed Communists, that China has no Communists?
I dont know why ot be kicked off. The situation is that CCP gov reduced 75% proverty rate, 90% illiteracy and promote full-scale country construction. chinese ppl dont not care about ideology as much as western. This country used to suffer a lot from "various revolutions". PPL dont hate communist as long as the country runs properly.
we has communist party, then what? Hongkong and Macao are allowed to maintain capitalism. History could tell whether ccp is extreme or not.
Easy for you to say when you just so happen to NOT be one of the people arrested under false charges, or one of the people arrested for speaking out against corruption, or one of the people shot for fighting for your natural rights.
I don't care about the people as a whole, I care about the Liberty of individual Chinese who want a government that doesn't censor the news and stuff like that.
No system could fulfill all ppl's interest. u are right. I may be not one of victim. But i knew how predecessors standed over the bad time (1970s culture revolution), and backbone the country again. My grandfather used to be a translator, and therefore, was exiled to northern border of China, where I was born. My professor had been prisoned for giving academic speach at that time. I have never been arrested, but I felt more changes in this country than u.
ppl u mentioned are minority against the whole. "liberty" u supporting is actually hurting most chinese ppl's freedom and liberty. it looks like the freedom that USA brought into Iraq.
I don't care about what the majority thinks, the minority have rights that must be respected by everyone, and those who infringe on those rights must die.
ideolist liberty heros can only bring quite limited changes, and be easily misguided by trickish media and politician. Their kind minds have no defence against a superficial justice, which is deliberately glorified by dirty but smart media. I guss
Today when the subject of Japan attacking Pearl Harbor comes up, the Liberal-Progressives defends the Japaneses attack because the United States was only threatening an oil Embargo.
Once upon a time, US were a Greatest ally to China. Unfortunately, China fell into the hands of communist extremist. sad sad sad. China should be the best friend of US in the Far East.
You do realize that the US was already secretly supplying war materiel and manpower to China before the US officially declared war on Japan right? And you seem to forget that while the US government wanted to go to war, the American people did not. Not to mention, the 1928, the US was in no shape to even wage war, which was the high of the Great Depression. So why don't you try reading a history book next time before you start spewing baseless tirades.
If it werent for Japan, the communists would not have taken over. China was in civil war starting from the 1920s - 1950s. Chian Kai Shek already had encircled the Communists until the Japanese attacked. After more than 10 years of civil war, then another 9 years fighting the Japanese-- drained the poor Republic. Finally, the communists won in 1950.. after 30 years of war.
The Japanese Navy, particularly Japanese Naval Aviators were considered to be the best combat pilots in the world. 7 years of War with China will do that.
KMT stands for Kuomingtang (Nationalist Part) , it established by a group of revolutionist including Sun Yat-sin, the father of China, 1894. KMT to be ruling party after revolution in 1911. However, China fell into civic war very soon! Then KMT moved head office to GuangTong until 1928.
Communist China joined Kuomintang in 1924 and broke away in 1928.
KMT united most of regions in China 1928.
Communist China allied with KMT in 1937 against Japanese. KMT fought most of the major battles WWII.
well, among the resources oil was not discovered till the 1960s (in what was Manchuria during WW2)...a shame. But on the plus side, think about what happens if the Japanese discovered it first!
Manchuria is rich of coal and iron ore and other metals which are able to help Steel industry. In fact, the Japanese setup very well Steel plants in Manchuria to supply Japanese military industry. I want to correct you that petroleum was discovered the usage by British during 19th century. Japanese invaded Indonesian 1942, because of existing oil wells.
It's a shame the communists got a hold of this country and severely hurt it with all the reforms. If it didn't turn out like that, I think China could have been a very, very peaceful and liked place like it seems in this video.
Trust me, Nationalist China actually was not a lot better than Communist China. The reason why the Nationalists fell were because they lost the peoples' support. They lost it because of a HIGHLY corrupt and incompetent government & military leaders, extremely poor and backwards agrarian areas, and the feeling of humiliation by the Japanese.
China was in a civil war since 1920s. Then the Nationalist China then was invaded by the Japanese, and slowly gave way. Then when WW2 was over, Nationalist China had already fought 25 years of war, then had to fight the Commis who were backed by the Soviet Union. Yes, there was corruption-- but that did not lead to their defeat.-- nationalists almost won if the Japs didn't ruin it. Just like Pre-ww2 Germany, communism was favored by the poor, and 35 years of war made China poor. That is y.
VERY VERY PEACEFUL, but weak, I rather let Communists China rule China right now rather than the KMT. I'm happy that my City is handed back to the Communists China than the KMT
KMT, is the government that ruled China during WWII Chiang Kai Shek was the leader, they reteated to Taiwan as the Communisty Party of China controlled the main land China. Is also the government that wanted Taiwan independs, which resulted 3 Taiwan strait crisis
I love China. although I am not chinese or asian at all. I have alwayse liked China's history and all. But when it comes to the political side, I don't like the fact that they are communust (well not really communust any more). either than that I love china.
Communist China is doing wat the first KMT leader try to do, built a powerful and peaceful and united China. Rather than making all these little issue like the Taiwanese does.
The communist Mao crook was a bigger threat than the japanese. Jiang's assumptions proved right. A few years after the communist takeover china took a Great Leap BACKWARD
He never thought about China as much as preserving his riches. If he prioritized China, he would've made compromise and integrated the Communist Party much earlier and modernized the military to fight Japmurderers.
If all the men, weapons, food, and bloodshed was not wasted in civil war from the 1920's - 1930's... then the Japanese would have not had any chance to even step one foot in China. Chiang Kai Shek did not have time to fully modernize, when all their money are either spent fighting the civil war or bribing warlords to their cause.

kaito8209 1 year ago
@bobo441

@bobo441
On the other hand, in case of Germany, they were not fighting the war against the Jewish people.
kaito8209 1 year ago
@bobo441
If the 'Nanking Massacre, had actually existed, there might have been some motivation. Indeed it was an argument of motivation that the Prosecution never tried to dispute so far. Trust me, Nationalist China actually was not a lot better than Communist China. The reason why the Nationalists fell were because they lost the peoples' support. They lost it because of a HIGHLY corrupt and incompetent government & military leaders, extremely poor and backwards agrarian areas, and the feeling of humiliation by the Japanese.
carmen510 3 years ago 2
China was in a civil war since 1920s. Then the Nationalist China then was invaded by the Japanese, and slowly gave way. Then when WW2 was over, Nationalist China had already fought 25 years of war, then had to fight the Commis who were backed by the Soviet Union. Yes, there was corruption-- but that did not lead to their defeat.-- nationalists almost won if the Japs didn't ruin it. Just like Pre-ww2 Germany, communism was favored by the poor, and 35 years of war made China poor. That is y.

Chiang Kai Shek did not have time to fully modernize, when all their money are either spent fighting the civil war or bribing warlords to their cause.

That's how things were back in those days. Racism was out in the open, not behind closed doors or by using code words as in today's society.

Yep, racism never went away; it weakened and went underground

The only thing I don't like about this is how it uses a racial slang. (makes it seem less professional)
but it is very educational!
