I'm Making a Virtual Guitar. really easy. you just need a acoustic guitar and a picture of guitar. then erase the picture so all you see is the guitar. then type single letters as sprites. then when A, B, Ext. is clicked play that chord. really simple.
Yeah, scratch is cool. I work in it for a class for now, just started. My account name is "Handbanana" lol. I only have one vid, plz check it out, but don't expect some complex whatever.
That song at the beginning and end of the vid? That's the theme song in my vid about viruses. One guy smokes some hardware, and gets chased by the firewall police. ;)
In a way I agree with you. Scratch isn't "easy" and it does take hours to design a beautiful piece of interactive media.
I personally use Scratch to make interactive media. One reason is because I find it to be the easiest, relative to other options. The main reason is because I enjoy the process of using Scratch -- it's designed so that I can spend my time on the creative part, not on technical glitches.
So in a way Scratch isn't easy, but I think it's elegant.
Actually, After About 2 Or 3 Months Of Using Scratch, I Have Learned Many, Many, MANYYYYY Difrent Things About Making Games, Animations, And Adding Effects. Now, What I Was Saying Was That After About 2 Or 3 Months Its Get To Be Extemely Easy. It May Take A Long Time To Make A Good Sprite. But, Right Now.. I Can Make A Good Game In About 10 Min. I Have Actually Made A Guitar Hero III Game That Took Me About 30 Min, In That Time.. I Fixed ALL Of The Glitches.
I'm enjoying scratch a lot! Thank you for this wonderfull project. Just hope that the linux version won't take too much longer (and if you need betatesters, I'm available).
P.S.-I'm using it in linux, via the method explained in the forum.

Pffffffff, c'est horrible. je prefererais me prendre la tete avec un langage de genre C++ mais bon pour les jeunes c'est bien mais quel enfant aurais envie de programmer??? moi je crois pas que ca va faire succes
I wrote the script and definitely didn't say "nappy" although at 0:44 there is a project that says "nappy" on the background. The project was contributed by a Scratcher during a workshop.
My comment was definitely tongue in cheek given the political situation of the day I read this. No doubt you nor the team meant anything by it. It was a weak attempt at humor! Sorry if I offended!
Nice interface ... I am going to use it with some Young people I work with. We will create some climate change animations and games with it...I am amazed with it!
nice, but it reminds me a lot of AgentSheets (another tool for end-users, including kids, to create their own games and simulations), which has been around for... hmmm.. oh, yeah.. only for over 10 years now!
Good idea. I thought it was about programming. As in creating scripts and or applications. This is more like flash animation or video creation. I find one can use something like wink and then use something like cinnerella to further the animation process.
This is really interesting. I think it's great for kids as an introduction into contructing programs conceptually. It doesn't appear boring either loaded with variables and specific syntax. As an adult trying to learn on my own; this would have been a great place to start; however it's way too late, LOL! I had to dive in the hard way through the books.
that looks cool, i know some programming languages so i wouldnt use it but i think it will be good for people who dont wont want do dive head first into the subject or havent gotten a reason to try to learn coding
easy do you mean that you'll play a guitar with a picture? and do sprites that make a chord and record it from your real guitar?

Per un tutorial in italiano, è possibile cercare "comeweb scratch".
