  • i enjoyed this. maybe one day we can do a show of our work together.

  • very cool! I like the begining when you introduce the materials used in the painting.

I will keep checking more of your works.

    cheers!

    raeart

  • Another great painting--a perfectly imperfect person. When you were showing the materials in the beginning I was saying, "Is she doing a painting or setting up a Meth Lab?" :-) Either way, still dope.

  • welp, lol, it's not a game! That's all I can say. Those were the materials needed for this oil painting.

  • You know, well, you know ..such and such ...I feel, I feel it. Pause. Well, I think without having too and your work right here has effortlessly moved my mind, pleasantly, again. You are multi-layered in the best way.

  • Thank you darlin. I love your comments. For some reason they always tickle me!

  • Ladessa your soul is leaking all over the canvass. Thank you for not being afraid to be intimate with the world.

  • awe, thank you for saying that. As intimate as I am with the world, I don't always feel that returned, but when you and others come here and watch and speak with me it makes a world of difference in my life. I apologize for not getting back to you on the anger management vid. I asure you it wasn't on purpose... too many projeects in motion. I need you to send me a treatment idea in a message, and I can also send you my phone #. I'm contacted easiest that way.

  • well not to sound like some profound art critic but i see that painting and think of perfect imperfections. I say that to say, to some people we seem to held to some standard that would make us seem like angels but when we look in the mirror we just see a normal person doing normal things. Sometimes just being you is enough no need for a halo or wings. I like this piece makes me think of the ordinary people that we always see in extraordinary ways.

  • Dnygmatic... indeed. that's a great way to look at it. I like that.

  • A complete upper course of impressivenous! ....to question how?! ..I'ld be an idiot.... But you always seem to make that occur. Untouched grounds are your speciality, and this is why you are beyond. "love to love you" ...and your work!

  • so sweeet! I couldn't reply because youtube started giving me comment errors. This piece really is something new. You know i can never get so defined or attached to just one style. I have to spreed my wings... no pun intended. I can only hope that the fact that Ladessa did it ties all of my work together cohesively. I think it's important that artist hang onto their freedom so that they don't get stuck in a rut of "this is what's expected of me".

  • what a wonderful talent you are ladessa. i enjoy your art very much. peace girl.z

  • Thank you ziggurni... you're not so shabby yourself. This comment really made me feel good. There was a time when I wouldn't even label myself an artist! Can you believe it?! I guess that's a testimony for all of those who love to create but haven't yet accepted the label of the artist. Sharing with others helps a lot to cross that threshold. lol. Ps. I hope to see more work from you in 2009! Happy New Year.

  • Ladessa,

It is ironic how we entertain angels unaware...

Perhaps it is our gifts that give flight through spiritual battles and physical situations...?

Perhaps the third eye provides our wings...?

    Until we close it...

Lovin the journey through your third eye...

    P&B,

    Ty...

  • I forgot to mention that the eyebrow actually lends itself to a wing...which goes along with the afore mentioned...

    Ty...

  • ...very perceptive

  • The Most Breautifulest Thang In This World Its Just Like Thatttt .. I Get In Ya... paintings...JOB Good Sullivan Ladessa.... CHooo Chooo

  • sweeeet!

  • Without wings! To me this is a painting of a girl who is kinda stuck in the middle. She's a very "angelic" person who's been through so much that there are hints of "red" (anger) and blue (sadness) in her now after experiences life. I think she's ME. lol Your amazing with your paintings! I'm glad we got to see what you were using! Good touch! I see the color swoop on the eye is the collection signature. Me loves it! YOU ARE TALENTED AND AWESOME! And it shows every time you post these!

  • Hey sis! Oooh, so glad you watched, understand and like this painting/video. A painting isn't complete until I get your opinion! Love you. About the piece, you really get the concept that was in my heart; The statement I wanted to make. Certain details such as what the red represents are somewhat subjective. I suppose feeling cross can be part of it... or red=blood=pain or injury/suffering leading to unsatisfaction/upset/anger yet turning the other cheek... sadness

  • ... Some of us feel like "angelic spirits" within a flawed shell/body, in a reality/world that we find both beautiful and disappointing. Often under attack, martyrs, prophets, healers, tortured souls, and philanthropist, tied to a good nature that prevents us from being capable of purposely inflicting or accepting the suffering we see or receive. That's a synopsis of what this painting is about for me.

  • that was kwel : D . Whas that an halo ?.

    Your a great artist.

    Peace

    LOve

    and

    Art

    be free indeed Charlene

  • Thanks Charlene! "your a great artist": that made me smile big. To answer your question: I would say the gold band represents what would be a halo if the figure wasn't here in this realm/world. A halo to me is more of a band of glowing energy positioned further above the head. For me this is a solid view of that; it has mass and realism such as the world we live in. For Example: like the movie "Enchanted" when the fairytale character was cast into "the real world" things appeared differently.

  • Dessa, You never cease to amaze me with your talent girl! You keep it up and we'll be seeing you on tv very soon!

I always consider folks like you to be the pioneer artists since you do the mixing, texturing, brushing, toning...and whatever else the gifted painters in you do to bring to life these wonderful pieces.

We're yet to see The Best Of You, keep up the good work!

  • Thank you akiey. Yeah, there's a lot of materials that go into these works. lol. I hope to grow and expand even further into my crafts. It really pleases me when people appreciate artist. Blessings to you and all of your design projects.

So great to see you shine Ladessa! You never cease to amaze, impress, and renew the standare of how outstanding you are. Your expression allows us all to see the art that is you. Thanks for the new work of art here! Without wings makes me ask the question, did we ever really need them to begin with?!

  • Hi kermie kerm, didn't expect to see you here! You and your wordplay... cool! I really appreciate everything you said here.

  • very cool.....I seriously need to try oils lol im just so lazy haha

  • I love Oil paint. I used to use acrylic when I was younger and I still do sometimes, but after using oils, I prefer them by far. Once you get used to oil the benefits are exceptional. I suggest picking some up and trying your hand at it.

  • yeah i should ^.^

  • I love this one also. Your work always makes me moody (in a good way). I have also noted your perfect song selection. U ARE ONE OF A KIND. Keep it comin' ! -MADUKWU.

  • Thank you Madukwu. You're a genius in your own, so I really appreciate that coming from you. I love this song. I can relate to the lyrics. :)
